Alex Smith is notorious for throwing the ball in the flats to the running back. I posted a similar topic that got blocked about Alex not looking down field after the seachickens game.
But basically he drops the ball off way to much and never looks down field. I began notching how many times in the second half he drop the ball off to frank gore. I counted nine times. So my guess (don't want to watch the game over) is he threw it around 20 times in the flats.
To me, that's not Jimmy Raye's play calling, tho at times it seems suspect. I explained to my dad that I will only blame Jimmy Raye when I see Alex Smith...
1. Actually look down field more then a half a second
2. Actually throw the ball down the field
3. Stop throwing to the flats and then coming back and saying were inconsistent
As a niner fan I am used to consistent quarterback play. We have gotten away from that. What do you guys think?
