Sando = Puppet
From the same article, and the reason I hate Sando.

Quote:
Alex Smith needs help. The 49ers' quarterback made strides by leading the fourth-quarter drive to a tying touchdown and two-point conversion against New Orleans on Monday night. Smith was effective largely because the Saints had to worry about the 49ers' running game. Smith will need more of the same from Frank Gore and his offensive line against Kansas City in Week 3. The Chiefs have allowed 3.8 and 2.8 yards per carry in their victories over San Diego and Cleveland, respectively. They haven't faced a running back with Gore's credentials, however. Smith and the 49ers have won three road games with fourth-quarter comebacks over the years. They had a 100-yard rusher in two of those games.

Why does he make it seem as if Alex benefitting from a highpoint on his side of the ball is a rare feat for NFL QBs? Would he mention that Tom Brady had a great game because someone else on his side of the ball also had a great game? It is indeed the fact that because Smith has been paired on the offensive side of the ball with so many poor talents at their positions, his career has faltered.

Its like playing at 10 o'clock for them

Its a big adjustment on the body clock

The NFL should not be allowed to schedule west coast teams at 10 after a MNF game

that makes no sense what sando said so the saints were expecting 49ers run during the 2 min drill?

I agree. If you're into silver lining, Kansas City, MO isn't that much further away from San Francisco than Seattle, Wa is. In other words, at least there will be less flight fatigue.
we start slow on the road and at home.

When you play at home, the crowd can help you get back in the game, when you play on the road its hard to make a come back if you start slow.

Its a pacing thing, not a time zone thing.

I'm surprised you're not giving more pep-talks in NFL locker rooms. Debbie Downer.

how am I being a downer? Its not news our team doesn't start fast. How many games were we down in the 2nd half last year?

I'm saying the whole body clock thing is irrelevant. These guys are professional athletes. They have curfews, there practice schedules are changed. I'm not saying if we start out slow we will lose, I'm just saying we rarely have a fast start on any away game no matter what the time zone.

They still need to be at the stadium at what would be 7am pst. That, more than anything, is the greatest factor. Length of flight has nothing to do with it when you're flying in 2 days early.

Unless you're flying to London, or something. Yay.
As of Sunday make it 3-21.

Thread Killer!
This one from Sando is also pretty damning.

The Arizona Cardinals have drawn 24 penalties in two games, trailing only Oakland (26). These totals include declined penalties. The San Francisco 49ers have 17, the St. Louis Rams have 16 and the Seattle Seahawks have 14. Green Bay and Kansas City have a league-low eight apiece.

The Chiefs aren't the slouch team we suspect them to be based on those statistics.
I know one of those wins was by Shaun Hill...when we went up to Buffalo and beat them...we were the first NFL west team to beat a east coast team on the road that season....

and Buffalo had previously put of 50 something points the previous week against the Chiefs..

I remember I went on the Bills message forum telling them not to take Shaun Hill and the 9ers lightly......that we would beat them.....man did they laugh that off....lol.... their forum was a mess for the rest of that week after our game....I didn't even want to rub it in their faces..it was that bad.
