Michael Crabtree. Season long Sophmore Slump or will he snap out of it?

I'm not worried about Crabtree , eventually Smith will go there. I think we are just seeing a slow start , not a season long slump. IMHO

I really want to see more YAC this season.

shouldn't there be a "sophmore slump" gauge of some sort? are we basing a "slump" or "break out year" against his stats from last year? what would you guys consider a slump or a good productive year?

i would personally like to see him get better stats than what he got last year-even if it is just a bit more.

To his credit he threw a nice block to spring Morgan for a 1st down on Monday night which does show that he is a team player and wants to win and do what he can to help.

The question is this. Is Crabtree facing the infamous "Sophomore Slump"? Will his less than spectacular stats, performance and impact thus far continue on and turn into a season long slump, or will he have a breakout monster game that will spark the rest of the season resembling the Crabtree of last season.

Last season he came in and made an impact and that was largely due to the small handful of plays he was given. Now with an entire offseason, he is expected to know the entire playbook. Does he? People questioned his work ethic, including Pro Bowl tight end Vernon Davis. Is his performance something that can be easily corrected and will his efforts and dedication that Singletary vouches for eventually translate to production on the field, or will the fact that he sat out the majority of camp and all of pre-season with an injury contribute to a year that will not be up to par for the young receiver. We all know his potential is there. Will it be realized this season or is he and all of us in for a disappointing Sophomore year for Crabs?

His "season long sophomore slump"? Lol...its been 2 games. One of which was pretty much a meltdown for just about everyone on the offense. The other was against the SB champions.

A thread like this might be appropriate after 8 games but not now. Its too early. Relax.

Absolutely right. Working hard in practice, and playing in the preseason wouldn't have mattered.

Hard for alex to throw his way when just about everything thrown to crabs gets tipped for an interception

this crabtree has lost his "swagger" he has to gain it back

you cant expect to miss practice and all games and come to games and expect to do good i am glad (or at least hope) he has learned that lesson

i think he will break out in the next 2 games

at the rate that alex smith is passing the ball to crabtree he should manage to atleast have 16 catches for 200 yards. i think everyone is overreacting to crabtrees first game cuz theres not much you can say about the saints game he only got the ball thrown his way 2 times and one was a batted ball that was intercepted, i GURANTEEEEEEE crabtree is a BEAST waiting to be unleashed

Crabtree is the best WR to come out since Calvin Johnson, he will be fine..

The bigggggg difference is last year we looked his way early and often right from his first start vs Houston..

game 1 v.s SEA: 2rec 12yds ; was a freak game, no one really got going on offense beside Davis putting up decent yards and Delanie having a nice first couple drives..

game 2 vs NO: 1rec 32yds ; was targeted 3 times.. the nice long one where he made a difficullt in stride catch with his hands and made a shifty move after and almost broke loose.. the second one he slipped, had the catch but dropped it.. the last one was gonna go for atleast 8yds but was tipped and picked..

There are 14 games left and Crabtree will get it going soooon..
prediction : 70rec 1004yds 6td , i was expecting over 80rec and 8td before the start..
