You know what Alex really needs to do? Stop playing it too safe.
You got a nationally broadcast game against the Eagles for week 5. You're about to be labeled a bust. Go out fighting like a man. Take a page out of Jay Cutler's book, and just try to make some plays downfield.
Agreed. I think he sucks but he needs to get pissed. I mean just act like a leader, take some shots down field, try to win the game. Scramble if you have to! Who cares if you get injured, you're about to lose your job anyway! Just make some f**king plays, or atleast try. If it doesn't work out then oh well. If Crabtree costs you another interception than punch him in the f**king face. Just show some fire and do whatever you have to do to win. If it doesn't work out then atleast he did everything he possibly could. He needs to stop playing it too safe. You can't rely on 14 play drives or whatever with no explosive plays all game anyway.
I agree, just go all out and start firing it down field. IF your gonna throw picks, at least attack the defense while doing it, stop being so scared to make mistakes. Get pissed, grab Crabtree by the face mask and cuss his ass off, if he messes up. Jump on A. Davis' ass is if he misses a block or starts piling on the penalties.
SHOW SOME DAMN FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!
If we see "FIRE" out of Smith then Dec 24th 2012 is going to happen
Well, if Sing is not gonna bench him, he better start showing something or we ain't gonna win crap.
Sad but true
You know that's all I ask for, show some balls and fire or better yet....fireballs!!!
You people think I want him to fail, shoot I got $250 riding on the 9ers season that we go to the playoffs......I just wanna win dammit.
Same. People called me a Smith Homer/lover but I just wanted our QB to do well. I'm really on the fence about him right now, he just doesn't seem to have IT and he makes mistakes. I want him to play well still, but if he's not doing well at the half in Philly then we gotta bench him or try something else. But I just want to win, I don't care who the QB is.
We all want him to play well but its tiring to read posts blaming everything around him in his sixth year.
Well i say whats wrong with saying somthing positive or negative about him, and also adding the other issues that are the problems. I think thats really the downfall in commenting on Smith. Most cant stem away from the ONLY Smith way of thinking.
When the D failed against NO, and the Falcons. Definitely say what you have to about Smith u know what i mean, but also include the other bad aspects, i.e, lack of consistent running game that makes some noise, lack of pass rush, d giving up the big plays, etc.
The problem is most cant just include Smith in the problem, they just continue to make him the main one. Offense or not, i think we are second in points allowed. Smith has nothing to do with that, because even when he brought us back, we allowed a score. But most dont want to talk about this reality. Just about Smith.
Yes but the determination in keeping away from flaming others is that other individual players have shown to improve. The one's who are not improved do get hung out here such as the following:
Parys
Manny
M. Lewis (he was cut after everyone mentioned he is our weak link in terms of speed two weeks ago)
Moran Norris
Rachal
and Alex Smith. Smith is a special case because he is the one player who was helped the most with improvement around him. We weren't expecting him to be a probowl 250+ per game 3TD 1INT ratio QB.
We just wanted to see even a little improvement and nothing.
For example, the defense plays very well at times except for one poor outing against the Chiefs.
However, our offense is being held back by one player who, not only isn't playing well, he isn't improving on his decision-making and accuracy.
