Consistency is important for an offensive line, so do we keep Snyder as a starter in place of Rachal?

Wow!!! No sacks allowed, great push.....the rookies played out of this world tonight...Staley shut his man down....Bass (besides the F up) played great. It was a great showing by our fellas. And Heitmann aint back yet.
Hats off to our OL....this is gonna be a mean and nasty line to deal with for the next decade.
Im excited!
Yep, they did good tonight.
The Saints aint slouches on D either. Iupati an Davis are gonna be keepers.
Makes me wonder about Rachal.
Now that you mention it ... Maybe we should keep Heitmann and Rachal out
Rachal actually played pretty well last week. Then he got that neck Stinger and had to come out. Snyder went in and our Line went to shat.
This week though made up for that.

Rachal got blown up last week, as did our whole unit...last night they played with resolve.

Rachal is very talented, I wouldn't write him off just yet.

This was the best I've seen the OL play in years. Give the QB time and he should be OK.

As I was saying in chat. The oline came of age last night as well as the offense. It looked like they were on the verge of dominating the game. It looked impressive. The protection was great, mostly because in the 1st half they called high protection pass plays, but in the 2nd half they stepped with less protection for the qb.
Also, Smith's presence in the pocket was the best I've seen from.
This is a better football team than last year.
Now if we could only stop with the weird turnovers.

It's a very young team. Great things lie ahead.

On Gore's TD run, Iupati pulls and takes out two Saints defenders, opening that huge hole. I thought he was terrific, and Davis may have been even better in run blocking today. We seemed to run better to the right side than the left side tonight. Snyder played well.
Wow. Nice restraint.
Or maybe you made a separate thread titled, "Baas lost the game and should commit ritual seppuku in front of Heitmann on the day he officially comes back from his broken leg."
I thought Baas played well in the second half, so I don't want to pile on too badly. It was a rough first half, and that snap put us down 9 points after the short punt after the safety.
Ritual seppuku is pretty fun, though.
For me, the real strength in the run game was behind Davis and Iupati, which I found to be a great sign for the future (although it was only one game). Baas' best effort was not in run blocking, as most of the game the middle was clogged. His best play was helping call blitz pickup with Smith.

I do want to temper some of the unbridled enthusiasm (count me guilty as well) about the OL play. It was only 8 days ago that we were a nightmare against the Hawks.
Consistency is what we need to see. I don't think we are as bad as last week, and don't think we are as good as this week. The rooks are still going to go through growing pains. And, the line will still go through a player personnel change when Heitmann and Rachal come back.
It really appears that the RG position is the one where we will see a massive scrum, as Rachal, Baas and Snyder compete for the starting spot.

This was our second game and they made incredible improvement in one week. If the improvement keeps up our future will be very bright.

The entire unit played well...against a very tough Saints DL and Greg Williams' blitz packages. Got to love both Iupati and Davis' fire. After the muffed snap over Alex's head, Baas played very well. Snyder was effective at RG...he may be an upgrade over Rachal...it is Adam's best position. Both Jaws and Gruden sang their praises. I think I almost saw a smile on Singletary's face, too. Still work to do, but a huge step forward from the Seattle game. The better they are, the more Alex and the rest of the offense can do...and as we saw last night, they can do quite a bit, but simply must take better care of the football.

Yea i say leave Synder in til he does something stupid. The o line played very well and got much more of a push vs the Saints. Davis was really impressive. and i love when I see Iupati pulling and getting that seal block.

One thing I saw Davis do that I really liked was when some of the Saints tried to pile on, he was pushing them away from the ball carrier. The dude's got some fire, for sure. Both he and Iupati provided Gore some running room and held up pretty well in pass protection. As Gruden and Jaws both said, they saw the OL grow up last night.
