Singletary just likes to give O'Donnell a hard time for some reason. Eric Davis is always making comments how Sing doesn't like him on their post game show, lol. That said, I think Singletary is just pi$$ed-off at the media in general and it's nothing personal. I for one am glad to see Singletary so angry, I would be more worried if he wasn't and just candy coated his feelings. Give 'em hell coach!

That interview means nothing. He's a football coach, not a talking head. Let's see what happens Sunday.

Found the video of Sing and ODonnel, just in case no one saw it. I thought Sing was gonna jump thru the screen and attack him, because Sing is just confident and trying to express that it's old news, and he's ready to move on.

Still, Sing was right. Calling him "Dingleberry" only makes you look like a dick. He wanted to talk about New Orleans and that's what he was there to do. O'Donell kept trying to start shat. Sing made him look foolish.
Now clean it up man, you don't have to like Sing but at least show him the respect he's due. I mean damn dude his inner player was out in full force. You never in your life heard a Head Coach say we WILL run the ball, we WILL stop so and so and we WILL win. Win or lose I got Sing's back.

First time I watched the interview and I have to agree. Just from reading about it, I was under the impression that he went on some crazy tirade. The media blew this interview wayyyyy out of proportion. Sing is just displaying his confidence in the team, which I seriously hope carries over into tonight's game.

Can a guy be more bitter, and difficult to talk to? I wonder how many players/people working for the team are tired of his antics.

A confident coach will complement the other team while actually figuring out way to win the game. As opposed to concentrating on getting the plays in or trash talking about his own team, one that has not been to the playoffs in 8 years. That is not confidence, that is insecurity and bluster.
BTW, he is getting paid to do that segment. He should just turn down the money and quit if he does not want to answer even softball questions.

He was given a chance to publicly respond to a harshly critical article, and blew it by not being ready with a smart response. I believe the Yahoo report more after seeing Singletary's response to it. Why else would he refer to the leak as a rat instead of a liar?
Answering calmly, dismissing it as clueless, not bringing up the subject of "rats", might make me think the story was BS.

They're totally blowing this out of proportion. Dennis wasn't fired, and they wrote the article like he did! Yahoo! just tryin to start stuff.

yahoo is trash. they're the ones that started the whole thing in the first place. I guess they accomplished what they wanted to accomplish though.

give it up you two....stop being blind homers.... Yahoo found a credible story and reported it.... Singletary lost his composer for NO reason when he was interviewed by O'Donnell..
if you watch the interview again... you could see that Dennis was trying to give Sing a platform to speak about the whole situation for the 9er fans that watch that preview show....who also most likely missed the press conference earlier in the day when Sing spoke to reporters about the situation.
Sing just punked someone he knew wouldn't argue back....Dennis is not one of those types of Media people who will try to "Bait" 9er coaches...like I said before he is a poodle compared to the other reporters....
Sing tried to pull that on Cohen last year..and Cohen blasted back to the extent of "we are not your players, do not pep talk us".....same thing with that other female reporter, forgot her name...but Sing had a problem with her...and she didn't back down.
anyway Yahoo was going to still milk this story cause Sing made fun of them...so they are going to get defensive about it too, especially if they feel they are in the right.
yall might think its over...but yall forget that thread I started before the season started...
The Media are going to Rip Singletary to shreds if we don't win early on...
http://www.49erswebzone.com/forum/thread.php?num=144921
Sing is making it so obvious how to push his buttons...and when the time is right from their perspective (if we struggle) they are the ones who will really try to bait him....
he just needs to brush their BS off ..and not give them more stories...and just worry about the team....he needs to understand that he is not the Head Coach of the World...and is just the Head Coach of the 49ers....understand that dealing/putting up with the media is part of the job.

It's got nothing to do with blind homerism. The story was credible to who? To Yahoo? It's about trying to make someone look bad for the sake of drawing attention. The media has a hard-on for Singletary, why? Because he doesn't like them and he's not shy about it. I don't at all agree with the way Singletary handles the media, don't get me wrong. But the media responds to their own hype by blasting the way the game is called during an implosion through an 'unnamed source'. Someone got paid for this information whether it's true or not. Yeah, if I were Sing I'd be hot about it too.
You started a thread about it. Bill Walsh once said it. "The press wants us to lose." They make money writing about dysfunction. See the motive?
I'm not saying the story is true or isn't true. And I'm not saying there is nothing wrong, because there obviously is. And Sing needs to learn some restraint. I can understand where he's coming from where the press is concerned though. Yahoo starts this, now after Sing pops off they see an opportunity to fuel the fire some more. They're loving every minute of it.
To me, the whole thing is embarassing. We lose like that, expect criticism. But that doesn't mean I have to like Yahoo sports or their writers, no homer.
Winning is the best deodorant. Win, they'll be on the nuts. Lose, yeah you'll get ripped. The shady-ness not neccessary. Ask a stupid question and you'll get a stupid answer.

Very disappointed in Singletary this year, and on the verge of posting a "Fire Mike Singletary" based more on his emotional instability than the early season losses.
This team is not going to be a successful team with a leader on the verge of a breakdown at any point.
Should a coach be passionate? Sure. However, coaches have to control their emotions. The season is long, and you can't get too high or low for any particular game.
