1. FB flat, not FB corner: Norris' route was to the flat which is why he turned to look from that direction.

2. Alex not only threw high, he threw to Norris' back shoulder side: Not only was the route a flat route meaning he should have led Norris to the sideline, he threw the ball as if it were a corner route and inside shoulder rather than to Norris' outside shoulder.

Singletary said Alex passes were outstanding....

Sing is starting to lose credibility.

Why was Norris even running short of the endzone. It was 4th down he had to get to the endzone not at the 1.

Im not making an excuse for Alex. It was a bad throw.

but on top of that If the Play was for Norris to go out to the flat then thats just stupid given the situation(4th and goal)

If it was a corner route what the f**k was norris doing? Why was Norris even an option?

with that being said the play was there to be made and it wasnt
So damn close to 13-0.

It wasn't 4th and goal. It was 4th and one inch.

Regardless, it's Smith's fault...all he has to do is SEE the guy and throw it to him, lol.

Those types of play actions are designed to produce a wide open flat route. Most of the time the route is ran just short in making the catch and turn the portion that puts it in the endzone. No different than one Gore had in the preseason and a few he had last year on a play action goalline dive. Norris ran the proper distance as Alex was ready to throw the instant Norris flattened the route which appeared to be proper timing.

Alex just choked on it no different than the one to Morgan and throwing a 5 yard bullet to Crabs.

There's too many times this happens with Alex Smith so I'm sure he's more at fault in it happening again than Norris. And to add, Norris is actually a solid receiver and has had good experience with that route before.

Do you not know the situation? I think you need to re-watch your video.

In case you forgot, this was after the 3rd and 1 where Gore got a half yard.

OH MY!

anyway, play after play, smith makes the wrong throws. 2nd and long, again throws the short pass to gore instead of to a WIDE open VD in the middle for the first. Next play, nothing, time to punt.

Gore got stuffed and they should have had Dixon in on that play.

will never happen. Same reason they haven't give up on smith. Too hard headed to admit they were wrong.
