I heard on the Radio that the team was given 2 days off.
I understand that players get an extra day to rest especially when the next week is a Monday night game, but our team wasn't ready for the first game of the year and they had all TC and summer to prepare.
Now we're playing the Saints who have had an extra 3 days to prepare for us and we're giving out more time away from work?
I'm concerned about the amount of work our staff, coaches especially, are doing to prepare for our games. I've heard in the past that Coach Sing is a 8-5 guy and doesn't put in those late nights that many of the NFL headcoaches have been known to do. But this early in the season, I'm questioning the extra time off given when his team and his coaches clearly are not ready.
I really want us to be prepared for the Saints in our home opener, I guess I'm crossing my fingers that key personnel decided to show up to Santa Clara anyway and work things out.

An extra days work won't make a difference on this Monday night. They just have to execute.

It seems like the relationship between players and coaches is strained enought as it is. No need to force it.

It's not like these guys are being taught anything in practice anyway.

Singletary is a lazy coach. Remember last year when he had a bye and also an extra 4 days to prepare for the opponent and the team did nothing. Singletary is a great family man but a lousy head coach.

They need to work on timing, routes, watch film on the Saints. We need to stop thinking that we can dictate our game to our opponents and instead study our opponents and learn their weaknesses. The Seahawks did that to us, and even though they're a 'less talented' team, they still beat us because they attacked out weakness.
We're going to continue to work on the basics and our dominant running game, and forget about what teams do against the Saints to be successful. You can bet that the Saints will be perfecting their double pumps to the wideouts on Offense, and on Defense putting 8-9 in the box and taking away VD's lanes. If we don't adapt then we haven't improved from last year. You can bet that every team gameplanning against us will look carefully at what the Seahawks did.

Hey now, what's good for Michael Crabtree is good for everyone else too. Fair is fair.

Co-signed.
I put all this on the coaches. They need the days off to take their heads out of their asses.

2 less days of Singletary's motivational rah rah bullsh*t. Not like this team gameplans or prepares for an opponent anyway. It's always show up at the game and make it up as you go along.

agreed. Some columnist recently said that there is something ""very wrong" " with this offense". Maybe its good to let them stew in it for a couple of days and hopefully they are ready on Wednesday.
