Now......we can see what we are dealing with.
Jed won't put up with any of this garbage. They now see the problem, they now see the crappy p***y playcalling on offense, they now see that Smith better play playoff football or he's gone, they now see that Gore can't be the only answer, that Smith needs to step up and so does our team.
We overrated ourselves with the 4-0 preseaon, overrated ourselves with the media crowning us the NFC west contenders, so the niners took the Seahawks lightly. You can't take anyteam lightly nowadays.
Sure , Crabtree and Gore hasn't played a down since last year,
but to pass to Moron Norris for the first time this decade?
Why not practice that play with Westbr.....nevermind...that's another thread.
With this big loss to a crappy team and blame game, the only thing now is to move forward. The niners now put all of this pressure on themselves to practice harder , and believe you me , Sing will bust out the whip. THAT'S WHY SING IS SO CALM ABOUT IT. Sing knows he now has an excuse to practice these ''superstars and 1st rounders'' lights out hard.
We are not only gonna play to win, but to destroy.

I'm glad this crap happened now and not later on in the season

I'm tired of Sing thinking he can motivate players by yelling and making them wear pads all week. If no one believes he and Raye can manage a game it becomes infectious. Pretty soon more players stop believing.
Bring in Gruden.

Work smarter not harder.
Sing and staff are apparently incapable of the former.
All this macho motivational stuff may get you to 8-8 or 9-7 at best.
What it takes to get to 11-5 or 13-3 and a deep run into the playoffs - Sing and staff don't have it.

well it was obviously a baptism by fire for the two rookie offensive lineman, once they get comfortable the offense will improve.
But the playcalling needs to be more aggressive, not so predictable and less complicated, but obviously the entire offense needs to execute the plays better and get on the same page, and once the offense is in synch I expect a more effective attack...no need to panic IMO

Jed will address this , I'm sure.
We use Bynam, Morgan, and M.Norris to pass to when you can use V.D.,a more practiced Crabtree, and use Westbrook or Big Dix as a fullback on 4th.

Didnt Gruden want Alex Smith in the 2005 draft? At least that was the rumor, he did say this last year as well:
"Said Gruden: "Alex Smith - he's a guy that I really liked coming out of Utah."

Possibly. But how long would Gruden be willing to put up with any shortcomings from Alex?

yup he did, and to be honest, I bet you if Gruden was our coach, and/or Norv was still here, i bet our offense would be completely different with Smith at the helm.
But cant worry about that now because we have Raye. I have to say that i too rode the wave of continuity on offense. Thinking that all those plays where smith threw, and threw, and threw in the pre-season, during TC, were gonna be put into the mix.
Yesterday at times, the playcalling was still soo terrible, that I actually knew every time the niners were gonna run. and im not even in the NFL. So im saying to myself, if i know whats coming, s**t then Seattle has to be 10 steps ahead.
A true coach with the correct offensive staff members, knows how to bring out the best in each player. Builds the team, and offense and/or defense to the players strengths. Almost like haynesworth. Yes he can play the 3-4, but for what he does, his skills are best used for the 4-3 (at least i think anyway).
We dont have a Walsh at all on our coaching staff. I just wish someone could see the potential that each individual player has, and max it out to the fullest, in conjunction with the play calling.
By the way didnt a year or year ago, we brought someone on board to assist with the offensive calling. May not have been our team, but i swear in the past 2 years, at one point, we had the OC, and asst. OC.
