- The high pass to Morgan on the would-be TD
- The uncatchable ball to Norris that was such an easy pitch and catch
- Firing the ball at shoulder level to Crabtree (in traffic) from 5 yards distance
- Throwing a pick 6
- Missing Morgan for a TD when we were still possibly in it
- Missing Gore on a 3rd and short when we were still possibly in it
- Numerous high passes ALL day leaving his receivers out to dry
- Checking the ball down way too early and unnecessarily
- Failing to have the presence to realize when he should run and when he shouldn't
- Having absolutely zero touch on short-medium range passes

How can he be this bad still?

Excellent points....and I think the large point is this one... In any professional sport, players have to find a way to maintain composure when the crowd and other team are gaining momentum. The entire team failed miserably at that today. In pro sports, the mental makeup of players is often more important than the physical gifts they bring to the field. The bottom line to me is that the team was woefully unprepared to play this game today.....and that goes on everybody...not just Alex, although he was absolutely awful today.

You know what guys, I get it Alex did not pla well but Raye did not exactly help his QB today either by putting him in the best possible situation via play calling. until we start to use all of the weapons effectively that we collected in the offseason WE WILL BE DOOMED. placalling too bland and un original. I saw talent sitting in the first half that could have been on the field to aid Alex. Just imaging what sean Payton would do with all the weapons at his disposal! JIMMY RAYE, win or lose next week, I will be calling you out if the play selection is not much improved and the talent is NOT utilized better. Get it together Raye or you need to be stripped of your playcalling calinng duties ASAP!
6yrs we make excuses for Alex Smith and it is clear this guy is just not an NFL QB.

Mike Singletary gives a great speech and sounds good but he is not an NFL HC. His death blow was hiring Raye as OC.

I am sorry I was wrong about Alex Smith. I have several people to admit that to.

If Smith got it for being a leader, he lost the locker room today. A couple more goose eggs like that one and I think he will lose the entire locker room for good. The Captain patch in this case is just cosmetics, like lipstick on a pig.

Alex sucked ass this game.

I'd give him one more week, if he doesn't play like he did in the first half against the Saints, then f**king get off my team. He missed so many easy plays out there, it's unbelievable.

Agreed man. He left plays out on the field. He's better than that (we've seen it). He just imploded.

Crabtree was unprofessional to say the least. More than Smith...that was EXTREMELY disappointing. I feel like there is locker room drama with Crabs.
jesus christ enough with all these threads already
but they both say the right things and are nice people right? luls

Dont worry, he will have a good game or two and we will all be clamoring over his potential.
Singletary is a joke and doesn't belong as an NFL head coach. He is a motivator and cheerleader. That is all. Game day decisions are way above him. Go for it on every 4th down and leave points on the field...

The combination of Raye's playcalling and Alex Smith's poor performances is going to doom this season.

The team lost today not just because Smith stunk it up, but because the team was out coached. That's scary considering that we play against two good coaching staffs on the road (Chiefs & Falcons) and two playoff teams at home.

If the team starts out 1-4, then I hope Singletary relieves Raye of playcalling duties. As for Alex Smith, the team doesn't have another viable option at QB. Looks like the team is gonna start the season slow, but I think they can still dig themselves out of the hole. Either way, Alex Smith is gone after this season.

Well put....the team was dramatically out-coached today. Seattle knew they didn't measure up talent wise so they came up with a very innovative game plan, stuck with it, and eventually got a few breaks which they help create. When was the last time this coaching staff out-coached another staff? I'll wait...................
I thought Alex played great today. Coaching was awesome! I hate when we take risks. A conservative game plan is always the best option.
