Its real simple, if he plays like this for the rest of the season, he is gone. We shall see.

And the pass Smith threw high to Morran on the 4th and one play? I remember a certain play that was thrown to high by Montana, but a man name Clark pulled it down out of the sky. Thought not perfect placement on Alex's pass, that ball was 100% catchable. That play is mostly on Morran Norris.
But, there's no use saying anything to you. Because no matter what, it's Alex's fault. Alex played like a champ the first half. Piss poor playcalling in the redzone and missed opportunities early were our downfall. The second half, I agree, Alex looked like a rookie all over again.
Good day.
I'll take the analyst's dissection of that and all the other plays any day over yours. Smith overthrew Moran (and many others) , end of discussion.
And I'll take my analysis any day over yours. End of discussion.

So many crybabies in this thread. Alex played terribly, but so did the rest of the team and coaching staff. Get over it and get ready for the Saints.

I just can't believe he's this bad.
- The high pass to Morgan on the would-be TD
- The uncatchable ball to Norris that was such an easy pitch and catch
- Firing the ball at shoulder level to Crabtree (in traffic) from 5 yards distance
- Throwing a pick 6
- Missing Morgan for a TD when we were still possibly in it
- Missing Gore on a 3rd and short when we were still possibly in it
- Numerous high passes ALL day leaving his receivers out to dry
- Checking the ball down way too early and unnecessarily
- Failing to have the presence to realize when he should run and when he shouldn't
- Having absolutely zero touch on short-medium range passes
How can he be this bad still?

I think the better question is why a QB this bad was handed the job as our undisputed starter back in January?

I couldn't agree more. This was a whole team effort gone array. I think I'm most let down by the coaching staff early in the game. We could've had an early 21-0 lead in the second quarter, or at least 13-0. Morran couldn't annoy me more with that dropped pass. And not to mention the horrible call by the refs the next series on Nate Clements.
Horrible team effort. Just flat out horrible.

Because the guy just doesn't have what it takes to be a winner in the NFL.

my notes from Alex's miscues today:
* Morgan TD overthrow
* Norris TD overthrow
* fumble
* V Davis overthrow, almost an INT
* bad throw to crabtree, intercepted, analyst said it was high and had too much velocity
* missed Ted Ginn for a TD
* overthrew Gore on 3rd down in 3rd Quarter
* overthrew Davis in 4th quarter, almost intercepted
* overthrew Zeigler in 4th quarter on 3rd down
* overthrew Davis on last drive

I don't see any criticism of Alex Smith. He is the main reason we lost. Hands down.

The rest of the stuff, yeah he pretty much f**king sucked. He should've hit Norris, but Norris still could've caught it if he wasn't washed up so bad. He didn't show very good touch, especially in the 2nd half. He threw way too many high balls in the 2nd half. So yeah I'll admit he sucked but you can't blame the whole loss on him.

Raider fans made excuses for their top pick bust up until he was cut. I just thought our fans were smarter

first you'll have to fix your reading comprehension problems. I said an analyst's dissection, not mine.

Well we know the Raiders organization is smarter and that sad. They didn't let Russell play 6 season for them without contributing a f**king thing while we are letting Alex destroy our season.

I put the 1st INT completely on Smith because the ball he's throwing isn't catchable. You can't fire a pass from 5 yards to your WR and expect him to catch it every time. People wonder why so many passes Smith throws are deflected and become INTs...it's because he throws lots of uncatchable balls in traffic.
And the pass to Norris is completely on Smith as well. I mean geez how hard is it to throw a 5 yard pass to a wide open guy with no pressure. By throwing it high, he makes Norris have to adjust awkwardly. It shouldn't be this difficult for him to make simple throws a HS QB can make.
