Agreed. Smith at this point I think has become so incredibly micro-analyzed that people take notice more of even the most solitary of incidents in games. Good throw or not, good game or not, ways to nitpick are almost always found when it comes to Alex's play these days. The same thing can be done with currently elite QB's, but the difference right now is that those QB's have been a part of a winning
team instead of a rebuilding one.
Once the wins come, and the numbers are there, that type of thing will recede (God help us). Alex is set up very well for success now, assuming the additions we've made to the OL actually prove to be immediate improvements rather than developmental processes.
But again, until those wins come, expect every mundane detail and infinitesimal part of Alex's game to endure massive criticism regardless of success. That's just how it is. But for my own sanity's sake, as well as others, I really, truly hope to God that Alex can finally silence the critics.
