Who do you think should be our punt returner when the season starts?

williams looked decent but adams looked great on both returns. i say give him an extended look in the last preseason game and decide. hes also bigger so he'd be more durable. unless they see his obvious coverage talent and get him in as a nickle or dime back and cant risk his injury on special team he should be the return man.

KEEP BOTH! Kyle Williams also has added value as a slot receiver.

With this last game I say Adams, even though it WAS against the Raitards.
Desmond Howard wasn't the biggest Return man back in the day, so size is not everything. Sometimes you want those shorter speedier guys on the field. They're not going to be hanging around waiting on the Gunner to get there. And will be smart enough to signal for the Fair Catch when the ball has too much hang time.

It's going to have to be Adams until Williams gets back, but I agree keep them both if we can.

I agree with the other posters. Keep both. They also add value at their other respective positions. Williams should get the nod for punt returner when his toe heals.
We should send a big THANK YOU!! to Trent Baalke for acquiring these two talents in this year's draft. All of our draft picks figure to be significant contributors if not immediate starters. Tip of my hat to you, Trent.

feels just like yesterday we had arnez battle and brandon jones killing us in the PR game. Now we have 2 rookies(and tedd ginn) who look very impressive at that position.I thought samurai mike had his head up his ass when he had Phillip Adams catching punts in practice but now he looks like a genius.compared to how terrible our return game was last year this is a GREAT problem to have

Adams. Turf toe can linger for weeks, very unfortunate for williams.

It's too bad Williams got hurt. I smell practice squad. There are only 53 spots and Adams just showed he could do PR duty and Williams. while he showed promise, is not on the field.

Actually Adams has added value too - as a DB. He's broken up 3 passes in the last two weeks, and hasn't been out of position on any pass thrown his way. He looks to me like he's got the "it" quality we're always looking for. I suspect he will end up being to valuable (maybe by next year) for them to allow him to handle returns.

This is probably the best option.
