its also preseason where running plays are some what very predictable
Dude they were just as predictable last season! Sing-Ray has a simple plan a VERY simple plan, run between the tackles everyone in the stadium knows it, we will "impose our will" on opposing teams, by being able to run up the gut even when they know it is coming! That is bush league JV play calling circa 1970! That kind of play calling held us back last year and it looks like we are in for more of the same this year.
Whats wrong with our run game simple:
THE PLAY CALLING!

Last year we ran the ball a league high between the guards, We were dead last in the NFL running off left tackle and second from the bottom running off the right tackle. By the way I am NOT making up those running stats. In short, our running game was/is VERY predictable; stack up the "D" over the guards and stop our running game. Any good NFL team can and will stop such a basic/bone head scheme. With Gore, Dixon, and Westbrook it would be a shame if we again lead the league in running between the guards. If Sing dosen't change we are not going to be NFC champs.
IF I remember, the Niners ranked 25th in the league in rushing last season. A more varied rushing attack might help this lowly stat.

I agree that Gore is still the center-piece of our offense, but I really believe that it now lives and dies with Alex Smith. I say that because I think it is Alex Smith who will determine just how good of a team we are this year, are we the winner of an easy division, or a Superbowl contender? That difference will be determined in Smith's play.
