I think the 49ers are very well coached.
Hell they even made Alex smith situationaly effective.
Sing reminds me of tommy tubberville or mike ditka. A CEO type head coach that need experienced coords to be effective.

Sing's Coaching Style - is motivating players enough?

Are some of you serious?
You are ready to pass judgement on a half dozen sound bytes? Get real.
A good coach/leader is one who can excell at motivation. There are so many facets of being the big cheese but I'd put motivation as one of the key elements. You can make up for shortcomings in other areas by putting the right person in the proper job.

It's Coach's strength...and he uses it to good advantage. He relies on his coords a lot....nothing wrong with that. I liked that he was giving players honest, fair feedback during the game. That's what preseason's for...to get your act together. His style seems to be working...when we make the playoffs, you won't hear many questioning his style.

After Byham came back onto the sideline, apparently Singletary pulled him over and said, "welcome to the NFL"
I ALSO know someone who is friends with Byham, in real life. Went to the same high school as him. Anyways, he talked to him on the phone after the game, asked him about the hit, and apparently Nate said he got "hit sticked" LOL

let the position coaches handle the fine-tuning, strategy things, let the coordinators come up with the plans and adjustments, and let Singletary organize and motivate. Is it enough? That's what this season is all about.

I didn't hear any real "gold nuggets" from him to the players on how to play better, just motivational pep talks and expectation setting discussions. The only advice I heard him give was identical to both Iupati and Davis: "play lower for leverage", which left me wondering if they had the same issues or if he had limited advice giving capability. His motivational style may be just what is needed if you have a really strong OC and DC in place, IDK. What do you guys think?
So you're basing your judgement of his ability to teach and motivate players on a few sound bites during a preseason game?
Are you kidding me?

Constant motivating can wear thin once the team has gotten to a certain level.
His continual success will depend on him moving on from there and fine-tuning things in a technical sense.
Remember that Walsh was one tough guy, despite his cordial way of speaking and personal style. He succeeded because he got everyone on the same page, even though they were a bunch of stars and perfectly capable of being selfish, and then moved them up with his famed technical innovations.

I think he is trying too hard to be a motivator than a head coach. Just my 2 cents

I was listening to a radio show we have out here in Denver a while back and they had Mark Schlereth, who played for Shanahaan in the couple of SB's for the Broncos. They were talking about coaching XO's versus motivational guys in regard to McDaniels.
Schlereth basically said you have to have a guy that you will want to go out and play for, a guy you would run out and get hit by a bus for. The season is soo long (playoffs) and such a grind you need a guy that can get you going. I think all of our assistant coaches are can help wherever Singletary lacks which might be Xs and Os.
