Parys the problem?

During the game, as I watched Adrian Peterson shrug off one Parys Haralson tackle attempt after another, I couldn't help but ask myself why there is such a movement to get rid of Manny and not Parys.

While Manny is not going to be confused for a pass rush specialist anytime soon he is a very good player in coverage and is an excellent run defender. Haralson, however, isn't excellent in any factor of the game.

He is certainly not a factor in coverage as his 0 career turnovers will attest. Run defense and tackling are no better as All Day showed today and Chris Johnson showed last season, (when Parys's missed tackle cost us the game).

And his pass rush while good is not decidedly better than guys like Brooks, Briggs, and Laboy, and definitely not good enough to justify his unquestioned position in the lineup. Much is said about Lawson's lack of sacks but he had more than Parys, even though Parys had more chances and plays the WILL position.
He has been a disappointment, he got paid and we never saw the monster season he was supposed to have. I hope we keep 5 olbs
If we were going to be cold and determined to have our best LBs out there lets go with Lawson, Brooks, Briggs, LaBoy, Davis and dump Harolson?

I've always thought of Haralson as a situational pass-rusher. Hes been a weak link in coverage and a liability at times in run support.
How much would we save by cutting him after this season? AB81?

Who?
Alex Smith is the problem, Nate Davis is the answer to that problem... if you are a mouth breathing lunatic.
Haralson's strong suit is rushing the passer and holding the edges against the run. He is just plain bad when it comes to coverage skills and pursuit (see 2009 Titans game, when he failed to contain Chris Johnson aroudn the edge).

At least Lawson can chase down some guys and play coverage.

He wrote AB81 though, but my small attempt at humor utterly failed.
