Why can't Gore and Dixon be on the field at the same time. Dixon displayed some nice hands. Dude can catch.

I have a feeling he'll get a good amount of carries. Fresh legs all season for all 3 RB's!!
Yep, the giants used three RB's effectively a couple of seasons ago.
Cowboys do it too.
But what does his performance and Westbrook's arrival mean for B. Miller, M. Norris, M. Robinson, and Caulcrick.
2 of them will be gone. I'd guess Miller and Caulcrick
Which is unfortunate, because Miller is the only one I want to keep on the roster.

Miller isn't going any where in my opinion. By most reports Miller is having a great camp and could be a better blocker than Norris. Miller is also a heck of a special team’s player. Norris has no special team’s value.
Special team’s ability may dictate our backfield to look like this: Gore, Westbrook, Dixon, Miller, Robinson.
That leaves Norris, and Caulcrick on the outside looking in...
Unless we carry six RB’s, which in that case I would think Norris makes it, and they see Robinson solely as a special teamer.

That's the way I see it. The only concern I have is the right side of the Oline. Hopefully with more games we will see improvement. Last game was really bad for Rachal and Davis

It was their first IN-GAME experience together. Give it some time. It will slowly but surely come around.

I think we'd be better off with Miller making the squad than Norris but you have to take into account the Gore factor. He's really close with Moran Norris and requested the Niners resign him after he was cut from the worst team in the league. Norris is old, isn't that great of a blocker and is completely one dimensional. When he comes in the other team knows it's going to be a run.
I hope Gore can put his personal friendship with Norris behind and do what's best for the team which is to have Miller instead of Norris, but I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't. I don't see us keeping 6 backs when 2 of them are fullbacks and one of them is a RB who's only position is special teams ace.

goal line carries when gore is tired thats about it but this is good for him remember last year cofee was a beast in preseason (granted our o line i s better now) but it would be nice for him to get used to the nfl talent before he becomes a player with a bigger role which should happen in 2 years max

Seemed 2nd nature to him.
What was even more impressive was how quickly he found himself after the catch and began to make people miss and move upfield.
Vernon Davis isn't even as good at catching a ball at stop and making a quick getaway upfield.

Are all you guys really stoned, joking or just making s**t up?
He played really well, strong, quick and has some promise... but the amount of praise he is getting from one preseason game is complete madness. I am all about being hopeful about young players but getting your hopes sky high from that one game seems a little excessive.
Let's at least see him play against some 1st team defensive unit, or at least see more than a few quarters before we label him the future.

I say he will make the team based on his specail teams play and because of losing McKillop.

I not sure how much stock I put in the "Norris will make the team because he is Gore's best friend" argument. If its a factor, I doubt its a big enough factor to keep him on the team unless he turns back into the bulldozer he was.

He hasn't been a bulldozer in a few years.

Dixon wont see time in the regular season until he learns blitz pick ups. That's what hurt Coffee last year, and it the biggest thing rookie RBs have to do that they didn't do in college. Nate Davis said there can be up to 8-9 different pick ups that the QB and center can call from the line of scrimmage.
He needs to get good at all of those ASAP, then the coaches will put him on the field with Smith.
