This Kentwan Balmer thing; the mysterious departure of Scot McCloughan; and, now a possible Glen Coffee Break--not to mention the Crabtree debacle--are all indicative of a dysfunctional and stupid front office. When is Jed York going to get smart and get a veteran football guy to deal with this circus?

Why are you grouping Crabtree's greedy holdout with Balmer's problems? And no one knows the deal with Coffee.
The cheapest of Jed York showing its true colors. That's great him him and Parage want to handle everything on the business side, but it seems like the football side needs some more help, with players spouting out to the media that the 49ers need to be more understanding
If a player wants to leave, the 49ers cant physically force him to stay.

Balmer was excused IIRC (Sing mentioned they spoke), but he never returned, Cant blame the FO on that.

Crabtree heldout for more money, by that logic the NY Jets have a stupid front office as well since Revis isnt at camp.

Coffee: We have no idea right now whats going on. It could be anything...

they can't force him to stay, but they can sue for their money back.

I'm going to take this post seriously.

Kentwan Balmer is away from the team for personal reasons. The team acted in accordance with the league's policy on players missing unexcused time.

How exactly could the Front Office have handled this situation any better?

Scot McCloughan left the team for personal reasons. The team parted ways with him and promoted from within the organization.

Michael Crabtree was holding out for more money than he was alloted based on his draft position. The team held firm and Crabtree eventually signed. Doing anything otherwise would have set precedent for the next draft class to holdout for more money.

How exactly could the Front Office have handled this situation any better?

Other than a few unconfirmed tweets from 49ers beat writers, no one knows the deal with Glenn Coffee.

I wouldn't jump to conclusions when accusing people of being dysfunctional and stupid, when you've displayed those same traits by posting the above.

Thats what they are doing according to the yahoo article on the front page. But I guess girly boys need to still b!tch about something.

The Crabtree "debacle", as you so put it, was a major win for the organization.

Also, your/our desire for inside/personal information about internal matters in no way is a priority for the front office.

It was in the end, but it dragged on for way too long...you do not see this in other organizations with more professional management. The 49ers infrastructure is thinner than most of the other NFL front offices IMHO.

Other players aren't stupid enough to hold out for money they'll never get.

I will agree with you in that Trent Baalke is quite slim. Guy must work out and eat well.
