3 1 Frank Gore
5 7 Parys Haralson
6 6 Delanie Walker
6 23 Marcus Hudson
3 12 Jason Hill
3 34 Ray McDonald
5 10 Tarell Brown
6 8 Josh Morgan
7 35 Ricky Jean-Francois

Good thing your not the 9ers GM. Reality is that most of ALL draft picks past the first round don't stick in the NFL, in essence are terrible.

I agree. Morgan is easily one of the most over-rated players on the board. He does what Scotty wanted him to do........BLOCK.
Makes you wonder why Scotty liked Alex so much. He obviously wanted to keep Alex around, but he kept adding players for a power running team (minus the O-line). Alex isn't a game manager, he's a wide open shotgun guy. So, if you have so much faith in a QB like that, why wouldn't you add players that also fit the style of offense?
What the hell was Scotty thinking?

With just the picks by themselves, its like a 1 out of 10.

When you add in that we passed on jackson twice, its a -4.

Why is Desean Jackson always brought up as someone we missed out on? He's not even the best WR we've passed on in the last few years. In 2006 we passed on Brandon Marshall for Brandon Williams and Michael Robinson and in 2007 Mike Sims-Walker was drafted 3 picks after Jason Hill.

Actually Bill Walsh was at his Best in the later rounds.
f**k it who cares, this is the 2011 season 2008 was three damn years ago s**t. Let's look forward instead of looking back scratching our heads and b***hing for no reason. Let's hope Baas gets his s**t together at c and hope that Alex Smith learns how to be more consistent.

3 1 Frank Gore- great player
5 7 Parys Haralson- mediocre
6 6 Delanie Walker- average
6 23 Marcus Hudson- worthless
3 12 Jason Hill- mediocre/never gets alot of play
3 34 Ray McDonald- gimpy/average
5 10 Tarell Brown- mediocre/bad
6 8 Josh Morgan- average
7 35 Ricky Jean-Francois- unknown/just a backup for now

He told the truth honestly. In 5 years worth of high draft positions McDonahue barely did much. His only saving grace was that he wasnt as bad as Tdon. Most of the areas that needed fixing in 05, still needed to be fixed when he was fired/let go. The guy was a waste of time and money. Im glad hes no longer calling the shots. He left us in disgrace and with us not having alot of quality depth. Even worse we still dont have a QB better than Rattay starting for us.
Not a good draft

Thank You. You forgot Goldson as well.

Not only that but Willis was taken at 11, Staley was taken in the 20s and Lawson was taken at 22.

Willis, Lawson, Staley, Rachal, A. Smith, Gore, Crabtree, Morgan, Goldson...all draft picks that are STARTING.

Franklin, W. Harris, J. Smith, all very good FA signings.

Wa sthe McGloughan era great? Probably not, but it was far from horrible. People need to remember the Donahue era.

At least McGloughan was able to secure a probable HOF player (WIllis) and possible HOF player (Gore). Granted both have a long way to go, but both are on track. Donahue was only able to draft a punter.
I was pissed the second they announced his name as our pick, I knew he would never amount to anything. I am so glad that we don't have McCluless making the decisions in our draft room anymore!

Pretty bad.

If Iuputi pans out (which I have a lot of faith he will) then the trade which got Carolina's first this year is going to look pretty good for years to come.
2008 was a year to close the book on and forget.

Both Morgan and Rachal are mediocre. They're the only ones that have been good enough to see the field, really. So, yeah, that 2008 draft was awful.

Why do people bother to point things like this out? Every GM in history has drafted a bunch of players that started for that team, for better or worse.

Willis, Staley, Gore and Crabtree are the only ones from that little list that have proven they would start on another team. Some will argue for Lawson, but if the other team has someone who is decent at rushing the passer, Lawson would ride the pine.
