Frank is a complete back - running, catching, blocking, blitz pick up.
Can anyone name another current RB who is as good as Gore in all of these areas?
Anyone? Anyone?
jack of all trades, master of none
Are you serious? He's a top tier runner, excellent receiver and probably the best blocker of all the starting RBs in the league.
i agree with the other guy... stephen jackson is up there! so is jones-drew

Gore is the best tailback that the Niners have had since I started watching them in 1980. I am not endeavoring to slight any of the greats that have come and gone behind Frank Gore, but he has done more with less support than any of the others. I do not think that enough appreciation is given to many of the great backs the Niners have had over the past 30 years by most. Whenever people talk Niner football, it is always about the QB, well take a moment and think back at all the workhorses we have had to carry the load, and how lucky we were to have them.

I agree that they are up there, but all around better than Gore? Mark Bulger dislikes this.

What's to appreciate? His ego is writing checks his body cannot cash anymore.
Gore loves the thought of padding his numbers up against garbage teams one week, without thinking about the sacrifice of his health for A VERY IMPORTANT GAME the week after next!
Also, Frank isn't a team player, he b***hes and whines behind the scenes when he's not getting the ball enough (when in fact the coaches are trying to protect his injury-prone ass from his own self).
And when we decide to give cry-baby Frank the ball he just blows season with either phantom fumbles or mysterious leg-trips from invisible leprechauns.

Wow, I thought I was cynic, you redefine that term, you complain about his aggressive personality and that he tries to hard, I believe there was someone called Barlow who suffered through neither, maybe we should give him a call.

This is the first time Ive ever heard a fan talk this derrogatorily about Frank Gore. Where do you get your misinformation from? Frank not a team player? Child please. He faces 8 man fronts more than any other RB in the league. And he still gets his.

Ya I stand by my words.
Frank has average speed for a RB; not even close to CJ or AP speed
Frank has average agility for a RB; not elite like Dangelo Williams or Reggie Bush
Frank has decent power; not overwhelming like Steven Jackson or Ricky Williams
Frank's biggest asset is his vision. He is average-very good in most categories as a runner. He doesnt lack anything. And he is a hell of a blocker. Frank can do it all, but doesnt blow you away with any one part of his game.

I never said that he was the fastest or most elusive, etc. I think AP and CJ are, for example, better pure runners. However, Gore is a better all around RB. There is a reason that AP is a 2 down player...

if you ask me... jones drew is a better runner then he is (that's why the use him on kick offs, a better blocker(if you haven't watched the video when he lit up merriman). and yes he's on a sorry team but still produces more touchdowns and by 5, had more rushing yards. and was only behind gore on recieving yards by 32 yards... and had only 2 fumbles and 1 turnover to gores 4 and 2. and he's not even the best runningback in the league. GORE is good... but lets not get ahead of ourselves. he was the leader on our offense and our go to guy cause we had no other choice. believe me. now that we have weapons to throw to and a line to protect our qb gore will prolly have better stats but definately won't be the main guy!

We are not communicating. AP is a better RUNNER, no doubt, but Gore is a better FOOTBALL PLAYER. AP is a 2 down back with poor blocking and fumblitis. Gore is complete. That's my point.

Ok, so we can all agree that CJ is the best RB in the NFL.
As for the Gore/AP debate,
AP is a DANGEROUS football player. Everytime AP touches the ball you want to hold your breath if youre an opponent. His POWER is unmatched. His SPEED is top-end. And AP wants to hit YOU!
Gore is a BEAST in his own right. Gore can do it all; he's hard-nosed, has soft hands, and will pick up all blitzes. He's a well-rounded athlete that is reliable and durable enough to be an everydown back.
AP is more of a gamble and Gore is more surer bet. When AP hits, he hits it big. He can lose you some too, and sometimes a lot with his fumbles. Its a riskier bet with a higher payout (long runs/TDs).
Gore hits a bit more often, but with not as much payout as when AP hits. Gore wont fumble much, and moves the pile forward and passblocks so he is a safer bet.
Not sure what you like to do when you bet, but I tend to play it safe. (Although I did make a $100 bet with a friend that we'd beat the Panthers in charlotte this year. Homerism was running high, but I still like the 9ers chances)

Since this is the Internet and it's hard to tell what tone a bunch of words is supposed to be read in, I can't tell if you're taking sarcasm to a new level or if you actually ride the short bus to school.
