Seems to me that the Niners want him in the mix for the recievers. He struggled as a #1 but might be a pretty dangerous #3. Teams will have to account for his speed. That couldl open things up all over the place. So I hope that Ginn can do this for the Niners.

Hopefully he can turnover a new stone in San Fran as a quality WR. Personally, I find Kyle Williams a lil interesting, him and Jason HIll. I cant believe we are now one of those teams with multiple threats at the receiver position(this is very invigorating). With Bruce retired, and Battle gone, We should get a peek at some up and comers.

How many times for how many different receivers have we heard this same statement, and it never seems to pan out. If they aren't catching deep balls and making TD's they aren't a threat. Ginn is only a threat on Paper and in the imagination of overly optimistic fans.
Sometimes a change of scenery will do a player wonders, but from all were hearing from TC he sounds like the same guy the Dolphins cut. If we lose Hill for that guy I'm going to be pissed.

So let me get this straight? You are going to get pissed if we cut a 4th year receiver who in total has 40 career catches and 400 total yards instead of cutting a 4th year wr who has 128 rec and 1600 yards? Good luck with that I would hate to see what else makes you upset.

Those are two different situations, but got your point. Remember he is trying out for the 3rd WR position on the team. All he has to do is catch 1 or 2 balls a game (24 for a season), not exactly asking too much.
Something close to this...
2009: 312 comp 528 att
Projected: 343 comp 545 att
Player, 2009 Percentage of Catches, Projected Percentage of Catches:
M.Crabtree: 15%, 23%
V.Davis: 25%, 22%
J.Morgan: 16%, 17%
F.Gore: 16%, 13%
T.Ginn Jr: N/A, 8%
D.Walker: 6%, 6%
J.Hill: 3%, 4%
K.Williams: N/A, 2%
Others: 19%, 5%

He's not a natural pass catcher, he's not physical with an F. but he does have the speed to keep teams from playing 8 in the box and if he helps frank gore out by getting the safety's to think about his speed then that should give gore some more room and a better chance to break it.

I'm really baffled as to why Jason hill isn't number three and is constantly stepped over even tho he's done pretty good given the opportunity. How much are we going to be in a 4 wr set that we keep these guys lingering around warming the bench. I'm excited about ginn and his speed but if he's gonna drop everything then wats his purpose. The other Blogger was right , in a martz offense he would be a beast not wit old school raye.

He HAS to be a returner first. When this deal went down, I was happy with it solely for what he would bring to the return game.
If he becomes a threat in the slot position at WR, so be it. But that's just an added bonus.
All the rumblings I hear of how the coaching staff wants him to focus on WR instead of PR is alarming and frustrating. If this guy isn't returning kicks, we're not using him to his full potential.

I wish it was like that too, but coach sees him as a WR first and if need be, he can fill in as a returner. I think Sing wants Williams or Vann to take the returner spot.

Very good comparison. Both have speed but run sloppy routes and drop passes.
Once the speed goes away Ginn will be out of the league just like Lelie.
