I was at the draft party in Santa Clara.
Between our picks, something didn't feel right. I was telling my buddy, Davis isn't worth giving up a 4th round pick. This guy jumped into the conversation saying that it is because its what we need to protect Alex.
With Davis coming in not knowing now to be conditioned for the NFL, needing work with pass protection and hard counts, do you think he is worth a 4th round pick.
Another thing I don't like is the Jed York justified the pick by saying something like, "We are a team that knew what we wanted so when he got close enough we had to make sure we got him." That just doesn't feel right to me, I think he could have fallen to us, if not we could have pick BPA.

After reading all A. Davis has to work on, was he worth losing a 4th round pick?

They didn't feel it was worth the risk to wait apparently. We shall know soon enough.

Yes. Are you implying a 4th round pick will be a star? That's a mainly miss pick on most teams. If A.D. will be able to solidify our line, giving up a 1st and 2nd would have been worth it. He will be good.
And what is all he has to work on?

It's too early to say he sucks, but i still think we wasted a 4th in moving up.

The better question is, who should be held accountalble for not only drafting AD, but moving up to get him. If he turns out to be a bust (I dont think he will) somebody should pay for missing that bad.
P.S. The 4th rounder is not an issue. If he turns out to be even a solid starter it was worth it. If he turns out to be non-starting material than giving up a fourth was small potatos compared to the giant miss of using our 13th pick on him.

Yes because someone else was gonna jump in front of us and take him. In fact I heard Dallas set up a smokescreen draft board directly in front of media cameras to make us all believe that they though of him as a 3rd round talent. Silly Dallas, we knew you were gonna try to get us back for stealing Jerry from you.
