I disagree, Justin Smith has been EVERYTHING we could have wanted for a 3-4 DE.
I'd argue for Takeo Spikes. In terms of value, Spikes' deal and extension were incredibly reasonable. If you recall, Jeff Ulbrich was set to start next to Patrick Willis in 2008.

Walt was a great addition to the team, and a real bright spot on some otherwise down years. Everything a Vet signing should be.

One of the consequences of becoming better is that you will eventually let some of your locker room favorites go, either due to age or the team simply getting better. Walt Harris is a guy along with Bryant Young and Arnaz Battle that I wish could be around when we become a top 5-10 team on the field (paper and predictions don't count). He played exceptionally well for us and I remember that MNF opener, the doubleheader along with Cincy/Baltimore that year.
Mike, Mike, and Mike made a big deal about the contract that Clements had gotten and Walt made that pick on Leinart when we jumped the route. I also remember the INT return for a TD against Broncos in the season finale in 2006. Just a great FA pick up. Good luck in Baltimore.

Walt had some great seasons with us and I only wish him the best with the Ravens. One of our best FA pickups in recent memory, especially in terms of value.
He definitely held his own.

Walt was a badass.
Injuries and age hindered his badassness.
Good luck Walt!
I wish nothing but success in his future endeavors.

Loved Walt, man. Was at the game where he picked the Raiders 3 times. Awesome player. What a shame he busted his knee up last year. A healthy Walt plus solid Spencer and Clement... What could've been! Oh well, good luck in Baltimore!!

Walt's best play with SF = PICK SIX off Jay Cutler, 2006 vs. Denver

You have to go back a ways before you find another corner as good and long lasting as Walt on the niners.

Walt was our best corner for a couple of seasons. There was a time just before walt that most QB's would simply throw the ball downfield and our corners would either get beat or get called for PI. That has not been the case since walt showed up and eventually clemens.

Agreed, that was an amazing season...especially since no one saw that coming. He was just supposed to be a vet back up but started when Spencer was injured (someone correct me if I'm wrong). He had an average career with other teams, but he was a beast with us and made his first Pro Bowl. Thanks for the hard work, Walt!

Thank you Walt Harris, for all you have done for the organization. I personally will miss your contributions and thought you were a very good cover corner. I could not understand why we didn't wait to at least see what you had to offer this year before just going on. Best wishes in Baltimore and I expect you guys to make the Superbowl to represent the AFC. I only hope we can do the same for the NFC. God bless!
