2002 NFC Wild Card Game: Giants @ 49ers... on NFL Network

I have to say though, the passrush wasn't bad at all. I know we use to collectively howl about Carter but he looks pretty good out there. This team would have gone so much farther if we actually had a secondary that year.

Plummer
Bronson
Rumph

Compared to the secondary we have now, none of these guys start.

How did the Niners even make the playoffs with such a weak secondary?
I am watching right now- if Shockey caught that pass we were done. I can't believe we won this game. I seem to remember having faith we could come back but I must have been lying to myself cuz even though I know we win I can't see how it happened watching how bad they are getting outplayed!

It was Ulbrich. He's now an assistant special teams coach for Seattle.

Brian Jennings is still there, I think I heard them mention his name!

I thought he said, Who was the last player from that team to leave the 49ers? It should be Jeff Ulbrich, who just recently retired. Brian Jennings is still on the team now.

Not winning the super bowl this year hurts just a little more considering Jennings was our longest tenured player in the bad era, and would have been a nice tie in to the end of the historic good era.

Trey Junkin Curse (Giants LS who cost them the game with the bad snap on the last FG....should be a lesson in why you NEVER disregard the value of a reliable LS, especially for a mere $500k, cos it might bite you in the ass at the WORST possible time)

Dumb and dumber.

Trey Junkin wasn't even playing football before that game. But keep trying to raise concern about our LS situation if it makes you feel better.
