Agreed. He will get paid. I also agree that he will show for mandatory. He is miffed at no contrat, but I think they will work on it. The hidden positive is Ricky getting reps and the backups getting better. Then on breathers, we will be stronger.

The ball is in Franklin's court...Niners franchised him and are willing to pay a cool $7M this season. I'm sure his agent is pointing to the fact his NT counterparts, Pickett and Wilfork got their extensions. The difference is they've proven their worth over a much longer period than Franklin has, therefore their teams were more inclined to re-sign them. Like most NFL teams, Niner management's being very careful WRT any long-term contracts, which makes a ton of business sense, given the uncertain CBA scenario. I don't see any value in Franklin continuing to stay away...he's not really helping himself or his team. The silver lining is definitely RJF getting max reps he wouldn't ordinarily have...and he's making the most of it. Sopoaga and even Balmer could also become bigger NT factors. So, Abrayo, it'd behoove you to knock off this holdout and get into camp...the longer you stay away, the less you'll have to offer. Do the smart thing, sign your tender, then go out on the field and PROVE you're worth a long-term contract.
