Do you think Brent Jones and Steve Young are still waiting in the weeds to buy the club? Could Larry Ellison and some other deep pockets, that live here come together and buy the team?
Wow I kinda like the odds of new ownership keeping the team here, and I really don't care for the York's, Jed included. I kinda see a "win win" coming here.
So who here would like to see the Yorks sell! Count me in!
This should be a poll right? I mean are you going to read through everyone's responses and then tally them up at some point?

I don't care if they sell or not.
Jed is obviously going to inherit this team barring any financial hardship that wipes out their bank account.
He's obviously trying to get this team back to the respectability they once possessed.
Why would he put this much effort into the team only so someone else can take the credit for his work. I doubt that he would even entertain the idea to sell.
Can't believe how many people are so single minded on this issue.

Jed's father is a doofus, but I am willing to give Jed a chance. What makes you think this Ellison guy is gonna be any better or for that matter... anyone who buys the team, you won't know till then and then if it ain't what you thought... you gonna scream bloody murder again and beg that someone buys the team. A lot of people forget Eddie D while open with pocket book... wasn't exactly all their in the first few years, first he got Monte Clark then he brought in Joe Thomas, and that's when the niners hit rock bottom, before he lucked out with Bill Walsh...and I do mean lucked out.

Thought about a poll, but there are many variables, who to sell to, were they might end up, that sorta thing, so, yea I just skim it and get a feel.

What about Steve Young buying the team, he has talked about it.

Fer frickin sure I do!
Ellison, Brent & Young consortium; there are a few good looking potential owners who actually look they are either; smart enough to bring better football people in, or already football orientated potential owners.
Good idea. Sell, then off to Hunters Point in San Fransisco where the San Fransisco 49ers were born, and accumulated their legend, and not so..
NINERS!!

Once again, GM took the words right out of my mouth. "Watch what you wish for". Most of what is written above is true. Jed is trying to bring this franchise back. But he could also be doing that to make the team more marketable, and worth more on the open market. I choose to think he is doing it for genetic reasons via uncle eddie, and sincerely wants the 9ers to be a force again. Initially he just had a new toy, a kid who grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth. With the appearance of bigRay/solari, poti and AD, maybe mays, maybe bowman, ginn as big improvement on KR and PR, baalke running the search for talent end...i dunno. That to me sounds like a guy really trying to make things right.
AS for the ace hole card if SC vote fails, that is creepy. True also that some gazillionaire could build the Taj Majhal in LA, offer it to the 9ers and ....
Right now i just want to stay positive, see the dam stadium built in SC, and get on with it. Players don't like to be moved around city to city...especially LA for heaven's sakes. Only thing worse than winning a contest and getting a free one week's stay in LA is getting second place, and getting 2 week stay in LA. Used to say that about Philly..and cleveland , too. Somehow i don't see the league agreeing to move a bay area team to LA. Did it once and bombed, so figure on a redux this time. Right now i just hope people of SC realize what a huge advantage it would be to them if 9ers relocated there. The economy is a problem, however, so that is the fly in the ointment.
I guess we know in what, 10 days, and then hopefully can put this thing behind us. To have the oldest field in the league is disgusting, and not representative of this area. We deserve better, players deserve better, and i am praying the yorks don't go "wobbly" on us and boogie. I just don't see it. Please SC, do the right thing...you won't regret it.

As much as I don't like the Yorks, I feel that they still have some kind of connection to the Bay Area that would make it hard for them to move the team outside of the area.
If we change owners, they'd have to be natives or looking to keep the team in the Bay (especially in SF).
I just say the ppl of Santa Clara need to step up and let the team build their stadium. First, they'll get great use of their multiple transit systems. Second, tons of money into the educational system comes from sports. Finally, they can show up the San Francisco Board of "Stupid"visors who have taken for granted a team that has helped make this city great.
I would rather have them in Santa Clara than in LA, period. If we fail to show support, ppl think they'll be able to strong-arm the niners to stay in SF and put more money down, but when u put a beaten dog in the corner, they'll try to find the best way to escape, and that may be to LA.
To all the "purists", yes, SF is the 49 sq mile city, established in 1849, and we ARE the 49ers!!! But I want our team to stay the San Francisco 49ers and Santa Clara is 45 min away and hey, we could score a Superbowl up in the bay for the first time[;)]
It's really a shame that there has never been a Superbowl in the bay area.
if i recall correctly the 49ers whooped miami's ass at stanford stadium in january of 1985

I agree with the be careful of what you wish for sentiment. It's not that I think the Yorks are great owners but I think you could do far worse especially if it's in the hands of a guy that views owning a team as developing and selling any other piece of real estate.
I said I don't think the Yorks are great but I will give them credit in that they are much better today than they were in the first couple of years of their reign.
I do also believe that Jed truly does care about winning and wants to see the team succeed and be considered one of the top teams in the league. He was the one that expanded and improved the conditions of the team facilities and leading the charge for a new stadium so it's clear he's attempting to restore prestige to the franchise. But no matter how much you care about something and how badly you want to succeed if you don't have the talent for it than it just plain won't matter. We'll just have to find out if he has the skills to match his enthusiasm.

Young and co said they could get a private stadium deal.
While our young face of ownership does care... gosh, he put his fist through the shoddy wall in the locker room..oooh....and he is smart and well-spoken, he is still a kid that got a team for his birthday. I waited for years to get a freaking toy truck.
Forget Ellison as he is buying the Warriors. But, maybe if that deal falls through...
The Yorks would take the team to LA if they knew they would make more money and that the league would allow it.
They would sell the team if they could make more money doing that than owning it.

The Yorks have not done a positive thing since taking this franchise over and, yet, there is still a percentage of fans that are unwilling to hold these guys to any type of standard.
Jed seems to get a free pass because he drops his uncles name at every opportunity.
It will be just awesome having the Yorks pay the note on a 1 billion dollar stadium. That's not going to affect anything at all, right?
Be careful what you wish for because the Yorks have proven themselves to be terrible owners. A new stadium, financed primarily out of their own pocket, isn't going to be this dream scenario that you all hope it will be.

Completely 100%, absolutely, NOT TRUE on any level. Since your holding standards, you might want to check your own here. This is a complete lie.
No it's not.
