He's not good with time management or offense.

Hiring Mike Solari has been his best move so far since he has been HC.

He's prepared this team to be in every football game. If you look at the years before he was coach, we had no chance and you could tell. Last year we were in most games even vs. the really good teams. Something you can't say when Nolan was coaching.

He's given us an identity and he holds players accountable. That's just as valuable as Xs and Os.

best thing he did was simplify the defence when he took over in 2008, instead of nolans idea of playing a guy like justin smith in like 4 or 5 diff positions, he came in and said this is the position u play now perfect it, i believe aubrayo franklins game took off right after sing took over, before that i never really noticed franklin too much in his first year and a half on the team

- He cooks with canola oil instead of Crisco.
- He switched to Geico car insurance.
- He buys only free range chickens.
- Traded cars with Jeff Ulbrich and drives a Prius.
- Faps with his left hand to build up his ambidextrousness.
- Watches his daughter and OJ Otogwe have sex.... sometimes.
- Ties cherry stems using only his tongue an average of 25 seconds less than when he first started his HC job.
- Now shops at Williams Sonoma.
- Wrestled an African lion. Well not really. Sing gave him the beady eyes and the lion backed down instantly and started to lick its balls.
- Spread peanut butter on his genitals and stood outside in 96 degree heat in front of his dog Roscoe.
- Went on vacation to NY and went atop the Statue of Liberty. From there, he took a bottle of KY jelly out and proceeded to squirt the tourists below.

Not true, we came out very flat against Houston coming out of our Bye week and were down 21-0 before we could blink. Also with an extra 3 days to prepare against Green Bay, we once again did nothing to benefit us with the extra time off and fell behind in that game very big early on. Also against the Falcons, we just looked flat and outcoached for the whole game.
But that being said, I am a Mike Singletary fan and I do think he will succeed as 49ers HC.

sing sucks... worse coach ever. worse middle linebacker ever. biggest bust in nfl history. darkest black man ever. has 20 20 vision.
smell the sarcasm. i hate these damn threads. hes a defensive specialist and for those who think he dont know x's and o's. ur smoking crack. a hof and probowler as the qb on defense knows more offensive schemes then any pro qb... they study ALL offenses not just one

this is singletary's year yes he's had bad clock management mishaps in the past but hopefully for us he learned something not to burn time-outs just to give them a pep talk that takes place before and at halftime of a game i like the way he motivates some of his players and let them know who's voice stands above all on that field every player know's they are replaceable he does'nt care if your a first round pick he'll tell you how it is the coach is in charge let's have a great season 49ers

Too many people expect a coach to be like Bill Walsh. Bill was a once in a life time coach. He not only knew offense but defense as well. He was the one who drew up the strategy on how the 9ers were going to play the unstoppable Marino and then had his DC make up the the game plan.
Singletary has pushed to get done what needs to get done. He knows his X's and O's well in enough. A good head coach doesn't have to be genious to win the Superbowl, if you study history-A leader knows how to recognize talent and use it properly, real in the person when it is necessary and make sure they follow his ideology, if his ideology doesn't work he solicits ideas and if viable trusts his men (players and coach) to let them do their thing.
The bad coach is the one who tries to do everything and control everything and not trust his men to do the job. So even if he gets to the playoffs, the players may end up choking.
Shanahan is great at Off, but look at his def., never was good or matched up to his O, not even close. Very rarely are teams balanced-new orleans was just awesome on O, that the def. was never really tested they just charged cause they could afford too.

We wont know the answer to this until we are in a game situation

On top of all that he slept at a Holiday Inn Express!

Are you serious? I mean, you don't remember our situation when Sing took over mid-season. Our team was in complete dysfunctional mode. I remember being f@#king miserable at the time. I can't believe you would say that about someone who is doing such a great job. How much better is this team since he took over? Do you think the galvanized team we have now is a fluke? I really believe that when he retires he'll go out as one of the best coaches in the NFL. All coaches make mistakes. The objective is to learn from them. He plays to his strength and surrounds himself with a staff that doesn't need to have their hands held like toddlers. The team we have now is light years better than the one in place when he took over as coach.
We should be supporting our coach, not criticizing. If you think Sing is not going to continue to evolve into a great coach you are sadly mistaken.
This.
The team has made more progress in a year and a half under Singletary than it did in five years under Nolan.
And give it up with the Xs and Os bs.
Singletary undoubedly knows more about Xs and Os than anyone on this board. Remember, he was the middle LB on the Bears when they had to play the Niners in the heyday of the WCO. He probably knows the WCO as well as Shanahan or anyone else. He had to play against it and prepare for it, numerous times.
The guy was a pro bowl MLB ten times. You think he doesn't know Xs and Os? What was he doing out there those ten times he played in the Pro Bowl? Someone else telling him what to do? BS.
Anyone making the statement that Singletary "doesn't know the Xs and Os of NFL football" simply hasn't thought it out sufficiently.
Right on! Right on!
