crabtree, morgan starters, hill has hands runs his routes and is cheap, ginn jr wr/kr with speed, kyle williams pr/wr rookie, if they keep 6 maybe jones he has to turn it up in training camp and pre season to make the team or let's see who gets cut during the pre season let's see if we can add a tall receiver 6'3 or 6'4

I doubt they keep 6 this year

That extra spot will be needed elseware

Split end- Crabs, Ginn
Flanker- Mogan, Hill

Williams wins the 5th spot, as a slot WR and starting or backup PR
He may find himself in-active most game days unless he wins the Job as PR
I bet that we carry less WRs given that most of them can do multiple things. Example: In years past we had to do things like keep Rossum and another WR. This year we can keep Ginn who can do both. At least our roster will be efficient this year.

The way I see it 5 is the max:

Crabtree (unless he wants a new contract :} )
Morgan
Ginn
Hill
Williams (due to versatility)

If I am Brandon Jones these days I am trying to blow people's minds in the return game to at least have kind of a shot at the roster.

All I remember is Brandon Jones dancing around in the return game last year.
1. Crabtree
2. Morgan
3. Jones
4. Hill
5. Ginn
6. Williams

I say we will carry 6 WR's, Williams and Ginn will be our return specialists and get some snaps at slot receiver ..and to be honest I'm expecting Jones and Hill to come up big this season, they both have a lot to prove, and if they can stay healthy and show some improvement in their second year in Jimmy Rayes offense this offense will get better

10 Williams, Kyle WR 5-11 186 R Arizona State
17 Zeigler, Dominique WR 6-3 185 25 2 Baylor

** Isaac Bruce is expected to retire.

I think the 49ers keep:

Michael Crabtree
Josh Morgan
Ted Ginn Jr.
Kyle Williams
Jason Hill

Couldn't agree more. i say we keep zeigler, and one of the other rookies in practice squad.

Not sure, but I think Z's practice squad eligibility is up.
I say the niners keep:
Crabtree
Morgan
HIll
Jones
Ginn

and Kyle Williams ends up on the practice squad. The guy is raw as a receiver and is more of a RS than actual WR at this point in his development. Many will worry that he won't clear waivers but I seriously doubt any team would make him part of their active roster right away, unless he blows up during the preseason. Placing him on the PS gives the niners an insurance policy in case Ginn gets hurt or doesn't work out.

I think we'll carry 6 WR's again this year. I don't think we'll use them in offensive sets much but it looks like their is no clear winner for KR/PR duty. Then again, it's hard to say without someone doing a full roster count. We have more talent this year than in a long time. Our O-line and LB's are both better than in years.

Has anyone done a roster yet?

why do you think he is raw as a receiver and is more of a RS than actual WR. he was a starter in college plus the same thing can be said about alot of draft picks. like Davis and Iupati are raw at this time. I'm not saying anything like bad about Davis and Iupati. just trying to point out that it's way to early to say he too raw and should be a PS guy when he was a 6th round pick. I do agree that there is a chance he would make it to the PS but I do not think he would be there all year. another team would pick him up when they had an injury like what happen to sheets.
