A few months ago I posted this and newbies (fans who did not observe Wragge in action before) got mad at my post.
Well, it's sad that Eric had to sit down due to a leg injury but he really was the weakest link after Kwame left!
Wragge is stronger and more durable than Baas, and I bet Frank can run blindfolded between wragge and Iupati - I can see those running space/hole opening up like we've never seen before, done by 49ers O-line before!
With the O-lineup we have this year will make our offense 100% better!

If by weakest link you mean he has a broken leg at the current time, then yeah he's the weakest link. If you mean in terms of being able to do his job when he's on the field you're smoking something Stoney would be proud of.
At this point Baas and Wragge both have some experience at C. I think the team is leaning towards having Baas play Center since if I'm not mistaken that was his or one of his positions he played in college.

Since we already know Wragge is a good capable backup at center and will most likely replaced Heitmann why not try Baas at center for a little while in camp to see how he does.

Obviously, you accuse people first before finding out the facts about what they said. If you are related to Heitman, then I understand - but you seem to have selective view of the 49er players the past several years, for you to miss Wragge in action, If his play has declined, and we will soon find that out, then it's your boy's (Baas) turn I guess. I am confident that this time next week, you will finally see what I saw on Wragge as Center long ago.

Im all for Wragge at C, IMO screw Baas, he is garbage IMO, just cause he was a 2nd rd pick and Wragge came from the Arena League means nothing.
When Wragge played we were succesful running the ball.

Like old times Bro, thanks for your support! I hope we could agree this year about Alex, finally having the season we've been waiting since 05.

Wragge and Baas get their chance to play....for 6 to 8 weeks. Once Heitmann comes back, the job is his. The other two guys are just holding down the fort until then.

You surprised at all by the quick promotion of Iupati and Davis?

Ummm so how many times did Frank get submarined or stood up at or behind the LoS with Heitmann on the field?
Only reason he had anything resembling his typical YPC average was cause he'd tear off one long run a game or so. That does not reflect well on your Line. In fact when Frank was out our Run Game was shat. Nobody did a good job behind that Line.
So is that because our Backs all suck or is it because our awesomely great Center had a bad couple weeks?
Face it bro, Heitmann is majorly overrated. Our Interior Line ALWAYS gets stood up regardless if it was run or Pass. On Pass it's not too bad since you can kind of work around that. On Run you NEVER EVER want to see your Line Standing straight up unless they pancaked their guy and are moving up the field to flatten some poor unsuspecting DB who over-pursued his coverage. We rarely if ever saw that over the last 4 years. Now granted that's not all on Heitmann. But where he goes they go. That's how it's supposed to be in the trenches. Keep your center low and hit the Opposing Linemen square and you should stand him up just about every time.

I think that speaks more to our crappy position Coaches than to the players themselves. Since both have shown some kind of promise at one time or other. Last year both Baas and Rachal showed some promise. Snyder just never cracked the Starting Lineup unless he was pressed into injury duty.
That's it. I think that says alot about how little they were being taught by the the previous Coaches. Nolan had this idea that if you played College Ball and we plug you in that it should be seamless. Nevermind that most College programs don't take the time to run you through a Pro System Training Camp because it's all about win now. I have you for 2 maybe 3 years. I'm expected to Win now. Not build for the future. Or else I get canned in 2 maybe turned out to pasture when the Freshman Class are draft eligible.
When Hostler was our OC running single look practices cannot have been good for ANYBODY's development. HTF can anyone say for certain that Baas and Snyder are crap? Especially since they only ran 2nd and 3rd team drills. Basically they are the extension of the practice squad and aren't being taught a damn thing because they aren't "skill players". I was pissed as hell that Nolan did that to these young guys. I mean hell if you thought enough of them to DRAFT them then bring them up the right way. Don't keep them off the field and make the Starters run ST duty other than Jennings.

3 years is an awful long time for an offensive lineman. What Wragge did 3 years ago has about as much substance today as what Alex Smith did 3 years ago.
Baas was the 1st into the lineup behind Heitmann, and thats after sustaining a recent concussion. I think that speaks volumes.

I am not sure what you mean by accusing you...unless you meant that I am accusing you of smoking dope since you do indeed believe he is the weakest link. I like wragge, but heitman is a great center. Forget where, but someone broke down the running game and found that runs blocked by heitman and a guard averaged more than anywhere else.
