Sure, I know it's a looooong shot l for this kid to make the team, but at least he can give all the Davis alums out there someone to cheer for in the pre-season.
Here's a video of Grant catching the game winning TD against North Dakota.
Check out how many defenders he beats!

The other noteworthy prospect at UC Davis' pro day, which took place on March 10, was WR Bakari Grant. Grant ran the 40 in 4.67 and 4.64 seconds, had a 32 1/2-inch vertical jump, a 9-9 broad jump, a 4.50 short shuttle, a 7.20 three-cone drill and did 10 bench press reps. He looked good in the posiition drills. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com

Not to mention, he was signed to a 2 year contract. Not sure if that is significant or not, or normal for UDFAs.

Normal. With the impending 2011 lockout, some teams are signing rookie free agents to two year deals in an attempt to retain their rights through changes in the way rookies are signed.

He got mobbed by his teammates at the end. That'll teach him not to make anymore game-winning TDs again!

can someone educate me on this contract stuff?
When a guy like Bakari Grant gets a 2 year contract then he's basically getting a shot to make the team. This is the same as any other guy that we drafted through the draft, right? So, does that mean that everyone competing for a spot is signed to a contract or if they have a contract does that mean the coaching staff has a little more confidence in the player making the team?
Anyone know what a contract really means?
