dixon will make the team this year and will help out on goal line carries probably more than coffee. I'm sure gore wants his touches at the goalline too but whatever is best for the team.....finally with a guard that can mow over people our 3rd and 1 and 3rd and 2 will be converted

A damn fullback? You mean like Tom Rathman or Roger Craig (before he started as a halfback)?

Not sure if I want him used as just a blocker or short yardage back when he can do this:

Just think of Anthony Dixon as the Niners' version of Shonn Greene...only bigger.

Watching him run reminds me of Floyd before his knee was destroyed by Steve Wallace.

He is listed at 233LBS, that is big enough to do what you ask, provided he has the skills to block and run over people? His highlights seem to show that he can run over, around, and by people? Now we just have to see if he can block people? Hopefully when it comes to blocking he is Tom Rathman & Willam Floyd, not Lawrence(I got Steve Young Killed and now I'm in jail because I am a slug) Phillips?
Floyd was 242 and the same height, hence the 10 lbs of muscle line.

Those two highlights show two parts of his game, the first is speed as he runs away from that DB chasing him, and the 2nd is his power!

I actually think Dixon may be used in the same way McClain is used in Baltimore. If his blocking is up to par I don't see why he couldn't be used the same way. They sometimes use McClain in the same backfield with Rice. In 2008 it was McGahee and McClain ripping it up against the Cowboys. I guess what I'm trying to say is I believe this is the style of running game Sing wants the 49ers to have and I belive Dixon will not only make the team but with the addition of the two heavies up front this years offense may resemble that 2008 Ravens team which went 11-5 and made the playoffs.

I like that idea of him being our FB, but I really think this guy could be our next starter in 3 years or so when Gore starts wearing down, he at least can compete for it. the guy has an NFL body, and if he added 10lbs of muscle!? He will be destroying players.

I just want to go slow about this stuff. Someone bumped the training camp thread from last year and I read the last page... there was A LOT of cock gobbling for Coffee and how he's "a sure thing" and a "beast" etc etc. Needless to say, I'll reserve my judgment until TC/Preseason to see if he makes the team. Coffee was sick in college, too.
