There is no cap this year (probably). But there will most likely still be one when there is a new CBA in place. And I highly doubt that will wipe out the current contracts. You have to assume dead money that would have counted against those years caps will still be counted against the new cap, whatever that is.
Of course this is a general statement. I don't know or want to look up how Jones' contract/guaranteed $$$ is structured (there are three more years after the uncapped year), it may very well be that they could cut him and make it so there would be no cap hit in future years (if there is a cap).
