I seriously think that our players have bought into this team and would rather re-sign with us instead of another team because they want to win here in San Francisco. The only reason I could see Vernon Davis wanting to leave is if he was given a chance to play in Miami with his brother, but even then I think he would still consider staying here and would want to re-sign.

Great job by the niners re-signing Willis. Still have a couple more players to go. I have faith they'll be able to re-sign most if not all of their key players.

Looking at our roster by contract years, what year do you think we will have the best chance to make a superbowl run? I say as long as we re-sign Vernon Davis, Aubrayo Franklin, Dashon Goldson, Alex Smith and find a decent replacement for Takeo Spikes and Manny Lawson we will be superbowl contenders in 2011. I know it seems like a long shot to get all that done, but I think we will be able to re-sign all of those players (using the franchise tag for one of them). Our o-line will have a full year playing together and Frank Gore should be at the pinnacle of his career. This coming draft we will not have to draft for need and we can truly go BPA which I think will take us to the next level as a team. Superbowl in 2011. Agree?

Next offseason could be really bad for us if we do not start re-signing some of these guys... Imagine if Manny, Smith, Goldson, VD, and Aubrayo all have great season in 2010? We will have a great playoff run, but be in serious trouble come postseason early 2011.

Now we know why we didn't go after any big name free agent out there
