What does your 53 man roster+practice squad look like?

Obviously this is kind of early to do this but after we draft 2 starting OLineman, +Boone looks like he may have gotten better, spots on the OL could be hard to come by. I could see a guy like Snyder getting cut, because he doesn't really fit anymore. Or maybe Cody Wallace gets cut because Baas will most likely be benched for Iupati and played center at Michigan.

How about roster spots at WR? Going to be hard to come by. I could see Jason Hill/Ziggy/Jones potentially getting the axe. Kyle Williams has a chance to come in and be the slot guy we need, the quick inside guy and he can also stretch the field. Ginn most likely will see some time outside to stretch the D. Shay Hodge was a productive and big WR in college who could potentially land on our practice squad. Scott Long is a big guy at 6'2'' and a real good athlete, potentially could be our Miles Austin if we develop him on the practice squad? Deep WR corp, nobody is really established besides Crabby as the #1 and Morgan as the 2 or 3 guy.

Running back? We have 4 backs right now, Gore, Coffee, Dixon, and Blount. I personally see it becoming a Gore/Dixon combo. Coffee had a hard time running behind a garbage line last year though, so he could redeem himself. And Blount is really talented if he can get it together. We still could use a fast change of pace back(hoping Forsett get cut from the seahawks after they traded for Leon Washington). Does MRob's lack of actual back skills cost him his roster spot?

What about full back? I remember someone tweeted that Brit Miller could replace Norris with a good offseason. Brit Miller looked good last preseason, got on the active roster at the end of the season for special teams too. I don't know if we'd keep 2 FBs, and Norris' play has fallen off since 06 by a lot.

Thoughts? I'll probably come up with my own roster later but it's kinda late right now so...zzzzz
I will just say this... we are leaps and bounds better than the 04 team. We have come a long ways from those days and will will end up cutting some good football players. The better we become the more we will have to cut players that we won't want to have to cut. Years past we didn't have to do that.

The niners did something I thought was stupid last year....They set out to be a running team and only had 2 RBs(MRob doesnt count) So this year I see them keeping 3 plus MRob because hes a proven STer. At WR I can see 5 guys making the team. Zeigler had his time and hasnt proven much but would want him before Jones. Jones doesnt fit anything they do. They like WR that can block. Would hate to see a young guy lose his job because someone didnt want to admit that signing him was a mistake. Time to cut and run. On the OL they made the 2 pickups that everyone wanted to see but who knows if those guys are ready. Im guessing projected starters are Staley Davis Rachel(hopefully not) Iupati and Hietmann. Niners last year only dressed 7 so Im guessing backups are Sims and Baas. Leaves Snyder SOL but he is a pretty decent G just a crappy T.

Plus theres always practice squad for the young guys.
too early to tell but there will be a lot of competition in training camp this year. If you were not a stud last year you will be fighting for a spot this year.

Overall I liked the draft. Sure there was a couple of head scratchers but there always will be. I also loved the undrafted free agents we signed.

-We won't carry 6 backs, someone is on the outs.

-We will have a 3rd TE for blocking whether it's Byham, Curtis or Finley.

-Like previously mentioned (and also by Sing) Iupati competes with Baas at LG while Rachal will stick to the right side.

- We will carry 4 OLB's.

- You also have more than 53 here and Vann is one of the 1st you can remove. He will likely be cut or on the PS unless he beats out a RB or WR which he will need to prove he is more than just a return man.
La Boy definitely makes the team as a back up.

One of the RBs goes to the PS between Dixon and Blount. My guess is Blount.

Hopefully they re-sign Bly or Harris comes back from the dead.

- NO WAY IN H3LL DOES ROMAN MAKE THE TEAM!!!!!!!!!:X]

- They're not ready to cut ties with Balmer yet.

O.K. So that's 54. Bubble players would be Robinson, Boone/Snyder/ Wragge/Bass, and Vann depending on which way they decide to go.
Actually, I think you have 53. You can cut out Lee as there's nobody to snap to him.

I think that's 52 but I'm not sure about carrying 4 backs or whether Vann makes it. I initially thought we drafted Williams for his punt return skills, we'll see during preseason whether Vann proves he's worthy.

And some guys may be listed in a spot where they don't play, for instance, I have no clue wtf Balmer does.

Good point. It looks like it might be the end of the Robinson experiment in SF.
