no, does not mean he is guaranteed anything except his signing bonus money.

Remember Bear Pascoe, the next great TE everyone paved him to be last yr. Now i love Byham and not saying he is Pascoe, but its far from him being guaranteed a spot.

And The PS thing is depended on him clearing waivers, cant just place a player on PS without waiving them.

I think Byham will be our 3rd TE this season. I can't wait to see how Nate Byham plays when the pads go on in a few weeks. The guy is a physical, "Singletary type" player.
