He's basically a running o-lineman because he can't catch for crap. We could use a blocking TE though. I'm just hope he doesn't take a roster spot over a player I like.

He's gonna take a scrub spot that'll edge out a pre-season hero, this dude is going to help us a bunch on 3rd and 4th down situations (specially in the 4th quarter).

I've read this guys story, watched his combine tape and it's hard not to root for him making the team. I'm beginning to see that it's a lot harder to find good powerful blocking in this league than pass catching ability. Anybody in these late rounds that makes the team is a gem. Gores guna be running behind 2 absolute beasts in his o-line. If we can pick up a blocking TE to boot and a speedster in the slot...we might have something here.

He could be a threat in the red zone as well when no one expects him to be a target.

This could be our best "under the radar" move.
I said all of last season that part of our problem on offense was not having a 2nd/3rd TE that could block. Problem solved; Byham was rated the 2nd best (or maybe best by some) blocking TE in the draft. His athleticism is underestimated for a guy his size (6'4, 270).
