Good example was St Louis 2 yrs ago. Rams fans were winning with a few mins left in the game. To the point their all their fans were leaving. I was sitting 25 yd line behind the 9ers bench row 2 lower level. I told my buddy we are still in this game. I mean ok ok this was alot due to the fact that it was the Rams but still. So anyways, slowly alot of 9ers fans started trickling down from all over and grouped up from the 50 to the 25 yd lines. There was easily a couple 100 of us, Your thinkin well the stadium holds 10,000s. True. But being so low to the field in a stadium that was well over 3 quarters empty and it being a Dome. The noise came. The Hail mary to Josh morgan came and put the 9er up with about a min 30 left. But the rams werent done they were driving.

All the sudden, I started telling everyone to pass it on that we all need to start getting loud and chanting D Fense. from me to 10 to 100 and so on. Starting the Chants D Fense D Fense... Coolest Feeling was seeing Patrick Willis and a few others look over in our direction and start pumping their arms in the air. Yes this had just proven a fact, the players do hear the crowd and do Respond. WE got louder and louder. Over the next 3 players, we shut their drive down and then on 4th down the 49ers stripped the ball and recovered it to end the game.

For those out there that say, when the 49ers start performing on the field that will give me a reason to cheer.. My question to you is... Why even goto the games if this is the case. As a true faithful fan. You need to bring it week in and week out. Imagine 40k plus fans in unison chanting, its gonna get you down on the field pumped. And thats our job as a fan.

Trust me it works, come Monday Night vs the Saints, we will rock the stick, we will suprise the league, we will win this game!!

WHOSE WITH ME!

I'm with you 149%. But look man, I'm like you in the fact that I try to make more than 10 games a year. This year I'll be in Seattle to start off the season and I'm going to try hit Lambeau & SD. Trust me when I tell you that I've been trying to start this "movement" since 2003. I've even posted threads on here pointing out the fact that it was ME that was yelling at all those fans leaving the 9ers/Giants Wild Card game early. I seriously hope some of them remember me telling them they would miss the best playoff comeback in 9er history and to enjoy it from traffic.

Now, let me tell you, there is no one on these forums that you need to convince. Its all those apathetic pinkie up drinkers that take up seats. Who else do you think sells their tickets to the opposing fans? I don't know about any of you, but I've been told plenty of times that I'm TOO loud. No profanity. Not Wasted. Not even standing up. Just too loud. After being escorted out 3 or 4 times, I got a little wiser. Then I just learned to abandon my seat when I interrupt their Garlic Fry session and they cry to the Ushers. I'll never shut up but it gets difficult to do that when people act like its a tennis match. I've seen people reading the paper, on the phone and just plain not paying attention off in their own conversations..... sad to say i think it will get worse if the stadium gets built and half of us can't afford it anymore.

Like I said, I'm with ya. We just got to know what's broke or else we can't fix it.

Hopefully things will change with a new stadium, but only God knows what kind of people would attend a 49ers game in Santa Clara and which 49ers fan wouldn't...

Don't worry the fans will come...a lot of fans have been beaten down for 7 years now...

I'm actually embarrassed on behalf of the franchise that the NFL picked this game to air on MNF. Defending Super Bowl MVP vs. Alex Smith that's just laughable, if you don't have Niner blood. Hopefully Franklin and the D win the game some how, course that's how the season is gonna have to go anyway, but especially in a game like this with two pick 6 machines waiting to pounce on one of the NFL's worsts QB's.

2009 non kicker scoring leaders for the NFC:

1. Adrian Peterson 108
2. Vernon Davis 78
3. Frank Gore 78
4. Larry Fitzgerald 78

you make it sound like we cant score.

and its so easy to tell you dont pay that much attention to the team. not only because you think our offense cant score pts, but that you refer to Alex Smith like its 2005. maybe you werent watching last year, but the dude came back from 2 years out with injuries and put up comparable stats to Donovan McNabb and Carson Palmer.

Smith threw for 3 TD's in one HALF of a game TWICE last year. how many QB did that? the fact that you come in here like a Raiders fan taking a dump on our team for being no contest for the Saints is a joke. go be a Saints fan if youre so confident in them.

There are at least 20 QB's better than Alex period
We can score cuz we have so many weapons, did you read what I wrote? Franklin our best offensive player runs the offense. And of course we have a talented WR core. Actually rrad what people write dude.

really? who are those 20 QB?

P.Manning
Brees
Brady
Rodgers
Rivers
Roethlisberger
Schaub
Favre
E.Manning
Romo
Flacco
Ryan

hmm.......thats 12.

would you take any of the following over Smith at this point? Cutler? Palmer? McNabb? Campbell? Orton? Hasselbeck? Garrard? Henne? Stafford? Sanchez? Young?

i wouldnt. nobody from that list is any better than Smith right now. Smith is about on McNabb and Palmers level now, but hes on his way up and theyre on their way down. just passing eachother in the middle.

and the way Matt Ryan played last year, its no guarantee hes a whole heck of alot better either. 11 or 12 QB's better than Smith. not 20. whether or not you agree now, you will later this year when Smith is making all the haters look dumb.

anyone who couldnt see the leap he made from pre-injury to end of the 2009-10 season wasnt paying attention. everyone is all over VD's nuts for scoring 13 tds, yet everyone likes to forget Smith threw 10 of the 13 to him in 10 games. he was threading some pinpoint passes to Davis in double coverage for scores last year.

if you still think Smith sucks, youre either blind, or are a hater refusing to let go and admit you were wrong.

Any idiot can throw to a TE. That's why most TE's who have a not so good or rookie QB, cuz their usually closer to the line of scrimmage, Dustin Keller/Rookie, Zach Miller/Jamarcus, VD/Alex. And 12 wow I mean there's bias and there is just insanity, I've given Alex more rope than he deserves cuz I bleed red and gold too, but that's just ridiculous.

Kolb, Henne, Cassel, DG, Brees, both Mannings, duh A-Rod (if only we would of done the right thing in the first place...), Schaub, Cutler, VY, Hassensack, Favre, Vick, Romo, Rivers, Flacco, Palmer, Big Ben, and Ryan, that's 20. And you could probably name more. Brady, ah there's 21. I could keep going, but I don't to be more embarrassed than I already am for having this guy, let alone this guy instead of A-Rod, ah screw it Jason Campbell, Orton, bloody hell 23 really really how did we get so QB inept? This is the f'ing 49ers, Title, Brodie, the GOAT, Young, even Garcia, jeeez and now the only major thing we don't have right now is the QB, I mean shoot the Raiders have a better QB than us, how does that not set off like a red flag in the organization, let alone the QB has held us back the last 2 years in the first place. If we had had a QB the last 2 years the f'ing Cardinal BS would of never happened, I mean we're partially responsible for putting Kurt Warner in the HOF, that's f'ing sicking, gosh I think I'm gonna throw up arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

LOL youre out of your damn mind dude. Kolb? Cassel? Orton? Cutler?? Hasselbeck??? wow. theres ignorance and then theres this.

watch the game with your eyelids open this year dude. if "anyone can throw to a TE" then why didnt every team have a TE catch 13 td passes? come on dude, youre making a fool of yourself.

you might have the lowest football IQ ive seen on this board.

Because he's VD, he still caught 2 TD's against the Vikes in Minnesota with Hill throwing to him. I mean part of the reason why K2 did so well in Tampa last year is cuz he had a rookie QB, Keller rookie QB, Carlson had a really good rookie year cuz Seneca was throwing to him a lot of the time, and VD did even better cuz Alex was throwing to him. I mean look at that monday night game last year even on the TD to Crabtree the ball was way behind him, just a great play by Crabtree, yet VD was hit in stride that night. Kolb duh I mean he torched the defending champs for 300 plus and put up points, they lost cuz I mean their D was torched even worse and there are very few QB's who can hang wit Brees in a shoot out hell there may be none. Cassel threw for nearly 3000 even though he nearly got killed and had only Dwayne Bowe to throw to and Bowe missed games at the end. Orton threw for what 3,800 and had a 21/10 TD/INT ratio last year so no freaking duh he's better then our dummy QB, and Jay Cutler um mega duh, as whiny as he is he's a serious talent who still has limited options to throw to and thanks solely on the Bears lack of any power on the offensive line, no running game to boot and even though he struggled thanks in large part to no WR's and no running game he threw for nearly 3700yds and nearly 30 td's. And Alex has one 300 yard game in career and that was the f'ing Seahawks with a seriously banged up and useless Trufant and no safeties who are worth mentioning, and yet he still couldn't throw against the Cardinals who f'ing Tavaris Jackson torched in Zona the year they won the SB or Chi-town who had a banged up Tillman and no FS who's worth mentioning or Philly who didn't have a FS either and Sheldon Brown did a face plant the 2nd half of the year. Tennessee Alex threw the game away in the 2nd half, and their secondary underachived alll freaking year. So he had a good game against the Rams, granted he sucked in the 1st half anyways, played well against Phillip Buchanon's Lions? I mean seriously Alex is a joke, the Raiders have a better QB then we do, that should tell you something, let alone the majority of the NFL including some a backup here and there.

i skimmed your giant run on sentence block, and i still see no proof of why Alex Smith is so bad. you arent proving any solid seasons. just a bunch of drunken sounding banter about how the Raiders have a better QB than us.

btw, Aaron Rodgers wouldve fared no better here than Smith. its all about circumstance. Smith went to a bad team with no line, no wr's, poor coaching, and no continuity in offensive scheme. add in a 2 year long injury, and you put anyone in that situation, and theyd be crap.

meanwhile, Rodgers went to a winning organization with good coaching, continuity, wr's to throw to, and oh btw 3 years on the bench learning from Brett Favre before he took the field. saying "see look at rodgers!! we shouldve picked him!!" is one of the easiest ways to spot a fan who knows nothing about football.

as soon as someone says that, i know right away what kind of fan they are. did you know Smith had a better comp.% than McNabb last year? did you know he had the same comp.% as Carson Palmer and Jay Cutler? his 60.5% was also BETTER than Hasselbeck, Ryan, VY, Cassel, and Sanchez. he averaged more yards per game than Palmer, Ryan, Henne, Cassel, VY, and Sanchez. his QB rating was also higher than Ryan, Cutler, Hasselbeck, Henne, Cassel, and Sanchez.

he had more 20+ yd passes in 10 starts than Ryan did in 14. and one less than Sanchez in 15 starts.

and this is all after just stepping onto the field midseason off a 2 year injury. youll be changing your tune this season. hes got the skills and the brains to do it. he just needed the right opportunity and some continuity.

One 300 yard game and that was against a HORRIBLE secondary. One uno, that's one more than Russell. Yeah Alex is better than A-Rod what world do you live in? Fantasy world, where Snow white and Prince Charming live? A-Rod had no line last year and he was off the chain. Jason Campbell had no line and not much help to throw to yet he threw for more yards than McNabb, oh yeah and he had a guy who was dumber than Mike Nolan coaching him up. So cut it with excuses Alex is a joke, there's a reason we haven't gotten to the Playoffs in to long and the main reason is the QB position, errrrrrr lack there of it.

Hmmmm...not quite sure he said that Smith was better than A-rod.
At any rate... I understand your doubts man. Yeah he hasn't done a whole lot of anything since 2005, at least not what we would have liked for a # 1 pick, but I'm not too sure you understand how Smith's situation has affected him in terms of trying to become a succesful NFL QB. Will he ever amount to anything? You say no and I can respect that. For me? I just wanna see if all the, "with the same OC 2 years in a row he'll be good, you'll see," bantar is indeed true. I mean even you have to admit it all kinda makes since. He sucked his first year at Utah.

Why you say? Because as Urban Meyer said he can't function unless he knows it all. After a year in the same system he seemed to be able to throw 47 tds and 7ints. Hmmmm....yes I know its college, but is that a coincidence?

Again not saying that he is all of a sudden gonna throw for 40 plus Td's next year, but one would be curious to see just how much the same OC for 2 years can help him.

Back to the A-rod situation....yes he is a TERRIFIC QB now, maybe the next great, but it really is hard to imagine A-rod being any good when he is throwing the football to Brandon Llyod, and Otis Arney. Not to mention with a Coach who had no idea how to develop a QB. Oh and he woulda learned behind, quite possible one of the best QB's in the history of the world, Tim Rattay .

So who knows maybe A-rod somehow becomes as good as he is today, even with all the OC changes, and all of the wonderfully gifted wr's that we have had since T.O. left, and all the glorious coaching that has taken place here since 2002, (imagine A-rod with Jim Hostler...) and the rock hard oline thats been here. And maybe he struggles to. Who knows. Hindsight is always 20/20.

But at any rate, whether we like it or not we're stuck with Alex this year, and no matter what doubts I might have about the guy, I'm praying for some miracle by the god's that, with the most talent he as ever had, (hopefully) a decent oline, and the same OC for 2 years that he doesn't revert to old Alex and embarass us in our home opener on National T.V. I'm pulling for the kid ONE last time, and the homerism in me hopes he plays the best game of his life that game and we beat the Saints and show the world that....we have returned

I was responding to the thing you just said if A-Rod was in the same situation, sure even Joe Cool the GOAT struggled early on, for one A-Rod didn't play at first, but reguardless of who his teammates were or even if they ended up to be Gore a better runner than A-Rod's ever had, along wit VD and MC, he'd still shine threw in some capacity. ALex I mean jeez the only good game he had last year with that talent were what against the Seahawks then awful secondary, the Rams, and the Lions? I mean seriously, he's a joke and we're gonna keep paying for it until we wake up and smell the stench he's draggin' around, especially since he's the only big weakness left on this team.

A-Rod lost to the cards /thread

He literally played out of his mind in that game and lost the ball at the end cuz of a bogus non 15 yard facemask call? He doesn't play DB or play OLB too you know, jeez. What he had to put up 60 on him, yeesh.

I have a GREAT feeling about MNF. Let the doubters do their thing, it will make the win that much sweeter.
Haven't we all been beaten up for 7 yrs.. if ur goin to the game then make noise simple as thatbust honestly its not the people that don't make noise that bother me. It's the people that try to prevent others from doin so. Really get tired of those and the ones that just don't know when proper time is

Hell i wish someone would've told me to be quiet at the MNF game last year against the Cards. Who woulda thunk it that you could get in trouble for being loud at a FOOTBALL GAME!!!!!!!!!!

I am stoked! 12 of us are going to this game... gonna be a blast!
I've never been to a 49er game in San Fran, but I've always noticed how "lame" the hometown crowd appears to be. If the 49ers home audience behaved the way the fans do at Qwest, I think the team could easily go 7-1 or 8-0 at The Stick this season.

I totally agree with you. The majority of the 50 yard line area fans are like 55+ years old.. and watch the game like sissys. lol. And the Nose Bleeds are always rowdy... but never packed to the point where it could be loud!
I can't wait for this game! 49ers gonna rock on monday night!

Agree most of the time, but the primetime games seem to be different. Last year, the Monday game against Arizona gave me chills. It was loud, tons of people in outrageous 49er costumes, and loads of fun. I am guessing the home game vs. NO will be no different.

There will probably be a good amount of bandwagon NO fans there, but hopefully all the Niner fans can drown them out effectively....
Meh, so...I'm out.
sweet, get to watch Nedney light up the scoreboard 3 at a time!
This game is going to be a blowout.
Well, I am going to bring a sign with "Rock the Stick"...
