I can't wait for Alex Smith fans new excuse after this year. What will it be... Hmm Gore fault,VD fault,Crabtree fault,or the head coach again...

I, for one, do support Alex. I like him , respect him, and wish him well. If he develops, then the team and we fans all benefit. Is he going to do it? As much as I would like him to, I frankly do not know.
But the haters' single-minded obsession can only be described as a psychological disorder, the likely product of emotional scarring that occurred sometime in their earlier lives. Their own feelings of failure and inadequacy is dealt with by convincing themselves that some other high-profile person is a failure too. Truly sad.

My favorite excuse last year was, "The O-Line didn't keep the pass rusher's hands down and failed to open the proper throwing lanes and that's why Alex had so many batted down and incomplete passes." And let's not forget the o-line's failure to give Alex the 30 or 40 seconds needed to find and decide which WR to throw to.

Three or four seconds would have been nice. That was something Smith nor Hill got very often last year.

Since I'm so "Delusional" let me help you see. http://www.nfl.com/players/joenedney/profile?id=NED444954
Now tell me haow many blocked extra points there were? How many blocked Field Goals. The answer to both is zero. Try again. And by the way, you clearly didn't watch the 9ers games last year either.

Then might the kicker and not the line be responsible? Nice try though.

Then might the kicker and not the line be responsible? I mean Nedney seemed to do alright with them. Nice try though.
I like Alex as a fellow human being, but not as a football player. And the excuses need to stop. The reply above is an example of the excuses. Poster claimed the o-line allowed xtra point and Fg's to be blocked and I proved this is wrong and then he tried to say that the new kicker missed because of the o-line when it most likely was his fault. You prove them wrong and they just won't admit it. But that's okay, if Alex screws up this year I'm sure they will find some other reason to blame.
