See? Using his superior intellect, Smith calculated the precise timing and effort needed to knock that dude over. Minimum effort, maximum result = WIN.
I don't know what's more disturbing about that play, the fact that Smith put his limited physicality on the line during a
preseason game, or the fact that Alex used his (newly) surgically repaired shoulder to force the issue.
-And from what I remember Smith ultimately opened up the Nate Davis floodgates/killed his chances of winning the starting job by spraining his thumb later in that game (making up for an interception).
Courageous/memorable play (and I'm not putting Smith down), but even a smart guy like Alex should have had more common sense than that. (Same as when Steve young did his headless horseman routine during the preseason.)
