Niners have attended his workouts and are interested.
Singletary is good with players, but he's gotta draw a line somewhere. Maybe with a limited role, and a leash he'd be ok..

No you aren't and if you are that desperate I feel sorry for you.
Sorry but someone had to say it.
Anyway no way to Pacman J. I don't think he'd make us any better, he didn't do anything well in Dallas and just caused lockerroom problems. Pass.

After making it rain in a strip club, Pacman tried to retrieve the money that he threw on the stage. The club refused to give him back the money, so he proceeded to smash a stripper face into the stage. Later on, members of his possee returned to the club, shot three people, and one of those people was paralyzed from the waist down. All of this was a result of Pacman trying to retrieve his money after making it rain.
I DO NOT want Pacman to represent OUR 49ers. Jerry Rice, Joe Montana, Steve Young, Bryant Young, Patrick Willis. These guys deserved to play for the 49ers. Pacman does not.

There's nothing wrong with scouting possible solutions at the KR/PR roles. At the same time, the ramifications of the impact Jones may have on the locker room may be critical to the success of the 49ers in 2010.
Singletary has respect and the credibility to succeed in this year. But if he thinks its wise to put your eggs in one basket on a guy like this to solve the special teams woes, he's not going to be a head coach for long in the NFL.
Look for the 49ers to become more interested in Jones after the draft if they are unable to obtain a special teams returner.

If u can get him on a 1yr deal with a few incentives and no gurantees, why not. The guy was a heck of a return man his first two years in the league and he is only 26. Why not give it a shot if it does not cost you anything.

better to find a rookie or even a good veteran tht is proven. I would rather have a college player returning kicks and punts with more speed and will cost less and come with less baggage

I say give the man one last shot, plus we need a few rough edged guys on the squad, every Niners squad has had their share of bad seeds that made themselve useful. Romanowski, Haley, to name a couple. I mean damn, it is football, not politics.

There's a good reason the Cowboys cut him, he's clearly lost a couple steps and can't play corner like he once did. I don't recall Dallas even using him for special teams (could be wrong). Character-wise, he's a huge risk, and talent-wise he's not what he was coming out of college. No thanks.
