great so now we are gonna turn alex smith into a raper
I could see Alex becoming the next Eminem for sure... make it happen.
raper = person that rapes people
rapper = people that sing hip hop
FAIL.
man that mike holmgren debacle sure looks better now doesnt it.... im just saying.
I think both you and valrod mean
rapist not raper (raper sounds a word a 1st grader would make up if it would know what rape constitutes and had not heard of the word rapist).
No offense guys...

Yep, thats exactly who I expect to take over. I don't think we will be adding anyone new. They will promote from within and fill a lower management position that becomes available after all is said and done.

Clark, Policy and Donahue were so bad that many fans have lowered the bar very low and are easily pleased with an average GM. Therefore McCloughan seems good, compared to the mostly garbage GM’s that we had, even though he is average. However, I do think that McC is an excellent scout, he just ‘peter principled’ and he is over his head as GM.
McCloughan (2008-2010): C+/B-
Nolan (2005-2007): C
Donahue (~~2001-2004): D
Dwight Clark / Carmen Policy (~~1993-1998): D
Bill Walsh / McVay (~~1978-1994): A+
Joe Thomas (1977-78): F-
It’s bad timing, but after the draft, there will be many good GM candidates available. Here are ten mostly younger candidates ‘on the rise’:
Doug Whaley: Pro personnel coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Mark Dominik: Tampa Bay director of pro personnel
Brian Gaine: Assistant director of player personnel for the Miami Dolphins.
Scott Studwell: Director of college scouting for the Minnesota Vikings.
Steve Keim: AZ Cardinals player personnel director
Eric DeCosta: Ravens personnel man
John Schneider: Green Bay Packers football operations director
John Dorsey: Director of college scouting for the Green Bay Packers.
Ron Hughes: College scouting coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Donahue is definitely an F why give him a D at all. I guess you forgot Ericson hiring and the 2-14 season we had.
I agree Donahue deserves an F. He should get the same grade as Joe Thomas in the 1970s who also was a disaster.

I am encouraged that maybe jedi jed learned a lesson with his rush to judgement hiring of bigMike, who should have been seriously considered for DC. But HC? jeez, c'mon, this isn't college. Hopefully jed is going to take time and evaluate atlanta, the ravens, the colts, the jets, the giants, the Packers, and see who sticks out the most as putting a great team together. Also consider our own guys, but carefully consider guys like loomis who have put a Saints team together in only one season or two. That is the most important decision jed has to make, and the closer he comes to drafting a HOFO from the above list, the better.

I would probley be happy with Gamble asI have been lobbying for Colts GM Chris Polian, but our chances of getting a high profile guy like that is slim to none.

In our history, yes. In the history of the NFL, not by a long shot.
Not by a long shot? You must be high. Walsh is arguably the greatest personnel trigger man of all time. He basically invented the trade down, and without question was the first man to every master it. He drafted the greatest QB of all time in the 3rd round, new when to trade up, rebuilt the entire secondary into one of the greatest of all time in a single draft, built a team that remained dominant for almost 20 years. Etc. etc. etc. I can go on and on. What most GMs have (i.e. Bill Polion), is that one #1 overall pick that works out and makes them look great. Bill didn't have that #1 overall QB, and still had the success he had. Please, name someone who is unquestionably better.
Positions Bill drafted brilliantly:
-QB
-WR
-OL
-Pass Rush
-Secondary
-RB

That means absolutely nothing, probably wrote it himself.
