No this team will not win the west with no identity at QB. No way in hell. Sorry for not being optimistic, I prefer to be realistic.

That first game at Quest Field is gonna be very important.
Anybody else catch the Seattle vs. Tenn preseason game? Seattle looked much better than expected. Their defense is very aggressive and much improved. Their offense looked better than expected too, with Mike Hill looking like a No. 1 wr--really BIG and fast.
It will be a test. Hopefully our young OLine has it together by then.

I agree, I don't think that the niners a easily going to win the west. AZ and Seattle are going to be top teams, regardless of what everyone says. Seattle went to a Superbowl not too long ago and so has AZ. Pete Carroll will have SEA ready to play for sure and I think he also has a better eye for talent than given credit for. Plus his record in the NFL is 33-31 regular season, also not as bad as many put him out to be.

Mike Williams, and all the Seahawk fans are on his nuts. They are definitely better than they were last year with a healthy Matt Hasselbeck. But I think that our Oline will get a good push on their Dline and that will be the ultimate difference maker

On Williams, the CB missed the tackle. His TD was NOT that impressive.

This is a very flawed offense in a lot of ways and no doubt it is the downfall of our team. The D. is good enough to win now. But the QB, WR's, O Line and RB (for depth-RB) are very questionable. This team could easily not win the division as they are expected to by so many media and fans and WZ fanatics. Face it the offense is shaky. And it has been for several years. You could finish 2nd or 3rd in the NFC West with that.

You could have avoided creating this thread altogether had you thought about the other offenses in the division. Not only do we have the most talented offense, we have far and away the best defense. The division is ours to lose.
