i really hope that isn't the case. but you know as soon as Carr has his 1st good pre season game folks gonna be calling for him to start. That's just how it goes.
Thats true, like it was wit JTO, then with Hill when everyone said because his record of winning over a 5yr period is the reason he should start. Then Nate had some good plays, i'll say in pre-season, and some wanted him to start over Smith and Hill.
This time i say screw how we as fans feel. I promise you if anyone other than Smith is the starter this season, mark my words, you can automatically count us out of the playoffs.
The Switching continuously hinders our team growth. The competitions, and all that hinder us soo much, and we've been doin that for soo many years. If smith is the QB, just like i said with hill, unless he plays like hill did, terribly in back to back games, i say barring injury, let smith play the entire season. Carr is signed for 2 years anyway, so if smith fails this year he's gone, hill may be gone already, and we'll have Carr and Davis for 2011 duking it out for the starting job.
So back to the original post Willy called David Carr, but like most said, your kidding yourself if you think he may not still feel the way he did when he made the comment. LIke Spikes said, Willis is just speaking from his heart, and he believes in ALL his teammates, and if we are to continue to get better then add proven vets, not unproven. He just didnt see what backing was there to bring Carr in. And most may feel the same way.
So he apologized, but i think the locker room will divide if Smith isnt the qb, for the ENTIRE offseason, OTA's, TC, and Pre-season. Just on the basis of knowing the offense better than anyone on the roster at this point.
