This Spikes tweet got me curious.

What if Hill asked to be traded/released and the 9ers said, ok if thats what you want, but first we need to find your replacement?
Seems all too plausable. Especially considering how well like Hill is in the locker room, how much of a winner he is, to just have Carr come in like he did? Doesn't add up. I think Hill forced the 9ers hand. Potential win win for both of us. Hill could fit in nicely in a more west coast offense like in Cleveland or Washington. I wish him luck.

Or maybe Hill overheard the plan before, then to save face, acted like he didn't know and asked to be released.

I think Spikes just indirectly let the cat out of the bag.

Hill appears to have two options: He can compete with Carr, the first player the 49ers pursued in free agency. Or he can asked to be released so that he can find another job while there are still jobs to be had. The Giants, for instance, are reportedly bringing former Colts backup Jim Sorgi in for an interview tomorrow. I contacted Hill after news of the Carr deal broke. He is currently considering his options.
Doubtful he forced anything.

Im saying he forced the 9ers hand prior to Free Agency. Before Carr was even a thought.

No team in the NFL is going to trade for Shaun Hill. There will be a surplus of QB's on the market, and he will be one of them. Even now, Jeff Garcia > Shaun Hill, and Garcia is unemployed.

Hill is not the kind of player that can make demands. All he can do is keep competing, and hope another team wants to sign him if he gets cut.

Best of luck to him, he actually posted a winning record for us which is no small feat as of late.

I think it's a pretty safe bet Hill is being released before any bonuses get paid out.

I think with all this tweeting, that our team can't possibly be happy with the FO and the lack of urgency to push this team over the hump.

You think the Bears would trade for Hill as Cutlers backup? Possibly.
