With Rolle breaking the bank, will we have to pay Goldson the same?

we should extend his contract now the reason we are not spending in free agency supposedly is to resign our own but i have not seen one impact players contract extension example patrick willis ,goldson gore vernon davis we are cheap as hell face it no impact free agents in two years when nolan was here we spent 70 million one on player n clements now since singletary is the head coach they have not brought in one impact free agent in 2 years remember last year damon huard this its year david carr no studs just duds what is 49ers management doing every other team in nfl is improving except us we are getting left behind

No.
Rolle has been a proven starter for 4 years. Goldson just 1. Big difference when talking money. Goldson needs a monster year next year or 2 more great seasons to warrant a deal like Rolle.

Goldson hired Rosenhaus last month to help him get a monster contract from the 49ers. Goldson enters the final year of his contract. Here's Goldson's response to the contract: "Antrelle Rolle I wanna thank u for openin the doors... Congrats too by the way"
If you guys don't think Goldson is going to get a monster deal after this year, then I don't know what to tell you.

If he can prove he can keep making plays and improve even more than he will get his money. I think Goldson will be a real good player going forward, even if it means overpaying i would give him his $$$$$

Goldson will get market value. Antrel Rolle broke the market.
We'd better not underpay Goldson and watch our talent walk away like the pathetic Arizona Cardinals.
We have the makings of an elite defense...we're just a few pieces away.

Seriously. Look at the pathetic Cardinals who will go into the gutter after losing all their talent.
In the NFL, contracts are not guaranteed. You can CUT players that under-perform later.
Pay whatever it takes to keep your talent.

And there's cap hits, etc.
My point is....overpaying a player in the NFL is not going to destroy your franchise because you can get out from under them.
However, in basketball and baseball, crippling contracts completely destroy your roster flexibility.

If he regresses next year, then no, he won't get Rolle like dollars. If anyone should get Rolle like dollars it would be Jairus Byrd.

No, Rolle is a solid CB and an even better safety. He is also been good for 4 years, but Goldson has a chance to be even better, so no for now! and yes in a few years.

It doesn't huh?
So then you give a huge contract to a guy who only had ONE good season(hmmmm deja vu?) then every player on the team sees that and says they want a better deal cause they had a good year. *AHEM* Vernon freakin Davis?
Yeah that was ONE contract but you start getting into contracts that get bigger by the position. That starts adding up and hell yes it impacts your ability to sign FA players to fill spots you're GOING to lose because you have to get under the NEW Cap system.
I don't care how you want to argue this, Goldson is a solid player and if he continues to play at a high level he will deserve a solid contract as a reward for that. But no way in hell a one year anomaly signing is going to change the pay scale of the entire league for their position. As many have stated, Rolle is a solid player but probably not THAT good.

I don't think Goldson is in a position to command that type of contract after 1 decent season. If he can not only duplicate, but improve on last season, he might just be worth the money. I don't know about highest paid Safety ever money, but maybe serious dough.
Thank you!
I agree but looking at Goldsons twitter account I don't think he does:
"Antrelle Rolle I wanna thank u for openin the doors... Congrats too by the way"
Looks like we better draft a couple safties this year lol
