Wow, that was quite a testimony for Joe Staley. Good job Mc. Now if we can get a J. Staley level RT we will have a set of bookend Tackles. Now if Boone could develop into a guard or tackle we would have another piece of the puzzle in place. Good job Joe.

Sims is a much better LT than RT, and Staley is still improving. A solid veteran guard or tackle would do a lot for this OL, including drafting a young stud.

Sims is an amazing backup at LT (and a nightmare at RT).
I'm wondering though if all these reports/rumors are true that we're gonna move Staley back to RT (where he played all of his rookie year in 2007), since 60% of the tackles that might possibly fall to us in the first round are natural at the 'left' spot.
I haven't been this excited about a draft in ages, seeing that we're actually going to put emphasis on our o-line, and that we have a great coach in Solari to put it all together!!!

The Steelers tendered Willie Colon at a first round level today. Hmmm . . .

He's still a youngster (27 next month) and played great in 2009 after an inconsistent 2008 season.

If I were a betting man, I'm bet on Trent Williams being the started RT on opening day next year.

What do you take away from this? Maybe our o-line problems weren't the product of our players, but the coaches. I don't think we need that much new blood on the o-line. Solari might just prove that.

He's the guy I wanted us to sign the most this offseason.

Is he worth a 1st round pick to you? Considering we might get left in the cold with the top OT's in the coming draft . . . . giving up a #1 for a guy who's made 50 straight NFL starts at RT is kinda tempting.

Check out the G position on that link. Chilo Rachal graded better than Steve Hutchinson, Richie Encognito, andMax Unger.I think injuries and related shuffling of players at less than their optimum positions caused a lot of the poor play.Along with changing from a run orientated team to a spread shotgun offense in the middle of a game in the middle of the season can't help.Combine that with a new QB,with different cadence, new plays every Monday,I think a record of 8 and 8 was expected.Definitely need up grade at RT though.

So, Staley and Sims are fine but Snyder sucks. Was this a surprise to anyone?
