Linebacker Ahmad Brooks received a second-round tender, meaning he receives a one-year offer for $1,759,000. Any team other than the 49ers to sign Brooks this offseason would have to give a second-round choice to the 49ers if San Francisco declined to match the offer. The Bengals picked Brooks in the third round during the 2006 supplemental draft.
Guard David Baas, a second-round choice of the 49ers in 2005, received an original-round tender. His one-year offer will be for $1,226,000.

Look like Tarzan (as far as Guards go) play like Jane.

He's not bad, but he's not that good either. Sadly he's the best guard on our roster right now.

If they don't, we resign him cheap and he's o-line depth.

I can't see why anyone would want to

This is the best thing to do, give him a one-year contract and see if he can do it again. I doubt anyone signs him to an offer sheet, so we should be good there. If he has a good season than lock him up long term next year.

But just for one more year...Is he worth keeping around?

For depth he's worth it. He knows the system and team and I'm pretty sure we're getting "somebody" for the line in the draft, who's better. I hope.
