With Franklin needing an extension, Davis, Willis, Goldson, and Brooks can we afford to extend them all this season? If we do extend them will we have enough money to get 1-3 FAs and our rookies?

If we knew how to draft we wouldn't have to constantly extend average starters. Then we could get some free agents.

With an uncapped year, we could certainly afford to pay for these extensions.
Willis will prob wait until his contract is up - as Davis will, too. We are currently trying to extend Brooks for a Haralson-type contract.
We should extend Willis this year over anyone else. Franklin will most likely get franchised.

Why franchised rather than signed to a 3-5 years contract?

If he will sign a contract they surely will. But he may wish to test his worth on the current market, in which case franchising is an option to tie him up

I have a feeling they won't extend anybody when they are expecting to lockout the players after this season. Why would you extend guys then lock them out? A lot of players around the league are gonna have problems with ownership if they aren't' paid before the work stoppage. the stoppage is about giving the players less so don't expect owners to give them big money extensions before the CBA is sorted out.

No, he can't. I guess you missed the thread where he said he wasn't going to do it anymore because the site he got his info from got shut down.

It will hurt the cape room, but Frank and Willis are a must.
