Glad to see this thread!
Sims did a great job as a backup. Too bad Staley got hurt though. If Staley was healthy and Sims got put in at RT, that may have been enough to get us to the playoffs.
Lets keep him around for next year. Never now when you are going to need an experienced OL.

I wanted Staley moved to RT and Sims kept at LT.
Me too, but Poppa Singletary said no.

looks like we won the Kwame Harris for Barry Sims "tradeoff"
although at the time getting rid of Kwame made us winners off the bat.
Sims is solid, id like to see Staley moved over to RT and see what happens. Sims clearly prefers LT, and he is an asset there. at RT hes a liability. we might as well see if Staley can do it at RT.

I think that Solari and Ray Ray get a handle on this mess. I see 4 players playing in different spots on the Line. Shoot make it 5.
I know how much of a stiffie some people have for Heitmann being such a spectacular Center but I bet there is a battle for that spot this Camp. Heitmann wins only due to experience if he comes out on top. To me he's lost out there when in the IForm. And his calls affect how the Line plays Tackle to Tackle. I completely agree that Sims should be Starting Left. I think had he not gone down to injury at the time Staley was cleared he might just have been left where he was at.

He looked decent, but that's because the rest of the lineman are awful.
