Gore's in good shape...

He's not going to look thin. He's very stocky and strong. He's 5'9" 217 lbs. By comparison Alex Smith is 6'4" 217 lbs. They are the same weight! Alex is 7 inches taller!

They point is he's huge for 5'9". I don't know many people in the 5'9" range who weigh that much. A lot of his game is strength and breaking tackles. He's not going to do that at 175 lbs. How thin do you want him to be?

I don't care about alternates...

They are still top tier players.

That's enough balance and enough quality to be better than 8 - 8. Most teams in the league don't have 5 Pro Bowlers.
